Borobudur Climb To The Top, Prambanan Temple And Ramayana Ballet

We had a fantastic day visiting Borobudur, Prambanan, and the Ramayana Ballet, and Dani made the entire experience incredibly smooth and enjoyable. He arrived early, was always ready to pick us up as soon as we finished each activity, and made navigating what can sometimes feel quite busy and chaotic completely effortless. He always explained exactly where we needed to go and took care of all the logistics. Dani was also incredibly knowledgeable. On the drives between places and on the locations, he shared so much about Indonesian history and culture, particularly the Hindu and Buddhist temples, and was able to answer every question we had (and tell us plenty we wouldn’t have known to ask!). Since we had some extra time, he even took us to another temple, as well as a great place for lunch, dinner, and a stop to try the local Luwak coffee. Dani was polite, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and genuinely went above and beyond throughout the entire day. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver and guide. Highly recommend!

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was extremely comfortable and thoughtful, and he made sure we had the easiest possible experience throughout the day, taking us right to the entrances, having water available, and arranging the tickets for us. He was also genuinely friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable about local history, culture and all the little curiosities we asked about. Highly recommended - professional, kind and a real pleasure to spend the day with!

Very beautiful day, the visit to the 2 temples is done very well in one day. The evening show closes this beautiful day with a view of the Prambanan temple in the background. Awesome. The organization was top-notch. Picked up at the hotel at 8 a.m. as planned. Our driver Aris was very friendly, gave us good advice, and accompanied us during this day with kindness, top-notch!

This tour was exceptional and the guide (Bima) was phenomenal. Not only were the main sights (Borobudur and Prambanan) very impressive, the information that Bima shared really enriched the experience, and he was very pleasant to share a day with. His driving was very good, and after adding an interesting church visit in between the two main sites, he took us to a local bakery to sample amazing treats (and he made sure that our allergies were accommodated). The sunset at one of the temples near Prambanan, followed by a nice dinner and entertaining ballet, were the icing on the cake. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough, for the incredible sites but also thanks to the expertise and care of the guide!

The Prambanan Ramayana Ballet was an exceptionally holistic and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Pak Matthias as a tour guide—his deep historical and local knowledge, flexibility, warm hospitality, and ability to make you feel completely at ease truly enhanced the journey. The dining spot was thoughtfully chosen, the sunset tour was serene and expansive, and the ballet itself was a magical, fully immersive performance. If you want to connect with the ancient culture of East Java in a meaningful way, this experience is an absolute must.

Our guide Dani is really amazing. He is very warm and friendly and he is very knowledgeable in the history of different religions in this region. His explanation makes us appreciate the existence of the largest Buddhist temple Borobudur and the magnificent Prambanan Hindu temple in a predominantly Muslim country Indonesia. For those who like cultural things and value religious harmony in a volatile and crazy world of today, this trip will help you put many things in perspective. Highly recommended.

They picked us up from the hotel in Jogya, the driver was also our guide to Prambanan, then drove us to the restaurant for dinner and to the Ramayana ballet theater. He went out of his way to make our trip comfortable. It was raining cats and dogs when we got to the theater, but he went in the rain to get us umbrellas, stepping in shin-high water to do so. Very grateful. Prambanan is beautiful and well worth a visit. Evenings are a good time to go, but there was no need to leave at 2 pm. We had to wait an hour and a half for the sunset after the visit, although we explored each of the 6 main temples inside and out. The Ramayana musical and dance was spectacular and I would go back just for that. Prambanan lit in the evening is a sight to behold.
