Our forest, project that started back in 2000, reforesting cattle farms, in the seek for forest recovering in la Fortuna, has become home for a great local flora and fauna variety throughout the years, very important for their preservation. It is also a great place for birdwatching. Throughout the tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife, including toucans, basilisks, and other exotic creatures. Your guide will share interesting facts about the animals and plants you encounter, giving you a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty of the area. The enjoy and respect of our mother nature help us have an authentic experience in the forest.
Starting the hike from Bogarin Trail's front desk to experience the lush rainforest of La Fortuna area and learn about the local flora and fauna from an experienced guide. Your guide will take you inside our magical trail, and will start explaining and showing the flora and fauna that resides in our forest, such as sloths, toucans, basiliscs, agoutis, owls and much more with a telescope they will point out the wildlife and help you take the best pictures and videos with your phone for your memories. A very easy and relaxing hike will end with a delicious and refreshing fruit for you to enjoy and delight our local pineapple. And you can rest on our rocking chairs enjoying birds and surrounding natural sounds.

We at first didn’t select the service with the tour guide. After walking for 5-10 minutes, we went back to select the tour with a guide and we are so happy we did!! Jocsan was our guide and he pointed out so many sloths, frogs, plants, birds, etc. - He was super knowledgeable and friendly! We spent about 2 hours with him and we highly recommend booking a tour guide! You will miss so much of the wildlife if you don’t!
Amazing tour! We saw many sloths, but also armadillos, tucans, wild pigs... and our guide, Alejandro, was the best! Really recommended.

My daughter (10) and I had such a great time here. I actually met one of the owners 15 or so years ago Giovanni and he showed my garden and told stories of his plans etc. well I can certainly say that the gardens are still amazing and they’ve done a great job a preserving nature right in the middle of town! We were lucky to see sloths, blue legs frogs, various birds and even a pair of owls! Such a great place and please take your time and get a guide!! An incredible experience at Bogarín Trail. We were truly amazed by the amount of wildlife we were able to see during the walk. Right at the beginning, we spotted blue jeans frogs, then a beautiful green male basilisk, and later a brown female basilisk. We also saw several bird species, snails, a whole family of wild peccaries, and of course both species of sloths. We were especially lucky to see baby sloths with their mothers, which was one of the most memorable moments of the tour. A huge part of what made the experience so special was our guide, Yasmin. She was extremely kind, funny, knowledgeable, and made the whole walk very enjoyable. Her ability to spot wildlife was incredible there were many animals we would have never noticed on our own. She also explained interesting details about each species and the surrounding ecosystem. After doing the tour, I would definitely say that having a guide is essential. They truly have a trained eye for finding animals that are very easy to miss, and it completely changes the experience. I highly recommend this tour, and especially doing it with Yasmin. It was one of those experiences we will remember for a long time.

We had such a great time on the sloth tour! Our tour guide Jasmine was super nice, friendly, and very accommodating. She made the experience fun and enjoyable and was great at helping us spot the sloths. We ended up seeing 7 sloths, which was amazing! 🦥💚 Such a fun experience and definitely recommend it!
