Many theories have been proposed over the years about the function of Stonehenge. Is it the fossilized remains of ancient giants, a prehistoric temple, or a huge solar calendar? The only thing we can say for certain about Stonehenge is that we don’t know its true purpose, and maybe never will, which makes this mysterious place even more compelling. As a Tour Britannia customer you will avoid the long queues that build up at the ticket offices, even for pre-booked visitors. Tickets will be obtained on arrival by your guide who will also explain the background history of the stones, and generally help you to make the most of your time at this very special place.

Arrive in the centre of Bath for a personal tour by your guide of the city’s historic heart that has made this a World Heritage site. Bath has been welcoming visitors for over 2,000 years and is famous for its Roman baths, stunning medieval cathedral, and sweeping Georgian crescents. We pick up from any hotel or accommodation in West, Central and City of London. Your guide will message you by SMS ahead of the tour to share their contact details and field any last minute questions. They will then contact you on arrival at your chosen pickup point. Other pickup areas can be accommodated but might require a change of timing and additional fee.

Our guide and driver David was terrific! He was very nice and quite knowledgeable about Stonehenge and Bath. Before we explored the sites, he provided helpful information and explanations, which allowed us to better enjoy our time there. He even took us to see the Royal Crescent since we had extra time at the end of the day and brought us back to London via a route that both avoided traffic AND gave us a different view of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion with David and highly recommend this experience!

We got off the Norwegian star cruise and met with Chris who was communicating leading up to the disembarkation about the pick up point and time. It was early in the morning 6.30am…and the drive to Stonehedge was without traffic and we were able to stop for coffee on the way. We opted for the VIP experience which was totally worth it. It was a beautiful day and Chris gave us information along the way and took us right up to the stones and continued to be a knowledgeable and supportive guide …the whole morning an incredible experience at Stonehenge. Standing in the middle of the circle, there was a sensation of vertigo…mild head ache…. I wasn’t sure if that was due to the early morning disembarkation or something related to being in the Circle!…. either way it was a once- in-a-lifetime experience and will never be forgotten. The whole Experience was made very special by Chris. My kids (11 and 12 year olds) also speak about the day repeatedly and were moved by the history, the space and the magestic stones! Thank you Chris (and helen who arranged all the bookings!). We got dropped at our London Hotel (Lincoln suites, perfect venue and access to London wonders) .

My 10yo daughter and I had a great day with Christopher at the helm. He was prompt, kind, knowledgeable, and patient with us. The drive in between the sites was always pleasant, we stopped when we needed to, and he was a wealth of info on our tour. He adapted to our pace throughout the day, and was great at knowing when we needed a snack break or a tv-in-the-car break! It was exactly what you want when you book a private tour- someone else to do the thinking so you can shut down and relax in a safe environment! Definitely recommend this tour, it didn’t hurt that we had fabulous weather as well!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Chris was an amazing tour guide. Fun, interactive and knowledgeable. The Mercedes van was immaculate and comfortable. This was an excellent tour. Stonehenge & Bath are both quite fascinating historical sites but equally important is the experience with our tour guide. Christopher was excellent. He had a genuine excitement for the sites he took us to and went above & beyond to give us a memorable day. He learned it was my husband’s birthday during our tour and made arrangements for a beautiful lunch at a farm to table restaurant in a country manor house, The Pig. We highly recommend this tour.
