Description
Journey through Picasso’s life in Barcelona to learn how the city shaped his art. We’ll visit Els Quatre Gats Restaurant, once a tavern and hangout for Picasso and his friends. This was the first place he exhibited his genius. As we explore Picasso’s Barcelona, we’ll visit other sites that inspired or hosted his early works. Hear the story of the women behind “Les Demoiselles d'Avinyó.” See the former Fine Arts Academy where he studied. At the Sala Parès, a former paint shop where he displayed his art, we may even step inside to see how it has evolved into a gallery, hosting very different work now than in Picasso’s day. At the close, your guide leads you down the picturesque Carrer Montcada. This medieval street houses the Picasso Museum, where you’ll continue inside with your skip-the-line ticket. If you’ve selected the upgrade, your guide will lead you on a tour of the museum’s most significant pieces, sharing the secrets behind the many paintings, sketches, and sculptures.

Interesting insight in the life of Picasso and Barcelona
Eaghan (handsome Irish guy) was an excellent tourguide. He gave us a lot of information and a perfect inside on the life of Picasso. He is very passionate about Arts and has profound knowlegde beyond Picasso. The size of the group was perfect.

Walking in Picasso’s footsteps
We did the Picasso walking tour and museum and had a great time. Eoghan was knowledgeable and entertaining, easily holding everyone’s attention and encouraging group participation. He was very friendly, taking time to get to know members of the group in between spots. We were never able to find our tour group.
I leave a five-star rating because I don't want to mess with their rating, but we were never able to connect with our tour. We arrived 1 minute late at the meeting point. We looked around and could not find the orange flag that our tour guide was supposed to be carrying. We texted the provider via the viator text app and it took 20 or 30 minutes to get a response. I asked for the phone number of the guide so we could call and connect, but they didn't have a number that we could call. They sent us the meeting points along the way in the text to try and hook up. I and my wife stayed at meeting point 3 for an hour. I then left my wife at meeting point 3, and went back to meeting point 2, a gallery that was due to close at 2:00 p.m., just 10 minutes later. I asked them if any Picasso tour group had been through that day and he said no. I strongly suspect that we were the only two who had booked this excursion that day as we did our very best to hook up with the excursion that apparently never went to meeting point number two. We finally went to the Picasso museum on our own after an hour and one half of futile searching for our group. Ended up spending our own money to get into the museum. I must say that it was a pretty darned frustrating experience for my wife and myself. I've got to think though, giving all the wonderful reviews, that we were in the minority of not having a good experience.

We truly appreciate your understanding, and we are very sorry that you and your wife were unable to connect with the tour. Upon checking our records, the rest of the guests for the 1:00 PM tour were able to check in and join successfully, and your message reached us at 1:07 PM after the tour had already started. As stated in our confirmation email, we kindly ask all guests to arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour begins, as the guide starts promptly on time out of fairness to the other guests who arrived early. Once we received your message, we still did our best to help by sending you the upcoming tour stops in hopes that you could reconnect with the group, although we also explained that this could not be guaranteed. Unfortunately, the guide was actively leading the tour, so they weren’t able to continue messaging during the experience. Regarding the museum tickets, we also requested your email address so we could send the entry tickets directly to you, but unfortunately we did not receive a response. We truly wanted to help make the situation easier for you and your wife. We sincerely regret the inconvenience and frustration this caused during your visit. We genuinely value your feedback as it helps us improve communication and guest experience even further. We hope we may have another opportunity to provide you with a much smoother and more enjoyable experience in the future.
