Picasso Museum of Barcelona is known for artist´s early works, selected paintings from different periods and special collection of Las Meninas, inspired by Velazquez´s masterpeace.
El Borne district hides many treasures among art galleries and designer work-shops, majestic Sta.Maria del Mar church and the archeological site at El Borne, dating back to 1714, a very important year in the local history.
Santa Maria del Mar, known after the bestseller novel "Cathedral of the Sea" is astonishing gothic basilica in the middle of the busy commercial district El Born.
Short stop by the arqueologial site of destroyed part of Barcelona in 1714, after the War of Spanish Succession.

Museum is great except the guide did not plan it well. We spend extra one hour in museum. Also we were told we will be picked up from hotel. But the day before we were told come to palace on our own. On positive side guide was knowledgeable.

My family really enjoyed the tour of the Picasso Museum and walk in El Born district and my two teenage daughters are hard to please. We found it fascinating to see how Picasso's work evolved from the classic style to his signature Cubist style for which he is known for.
