You have to be IT specialist to get your ticket
I paid $57 to Viator for me and my daughter to visit the Barcelona Cathedral. I was sick so only my daughter went and was told that she did not have the right ticket. I had forwarded to her the ticket I had received by email, but that turned out to not be the ticket. The correct ticket could only be access through some byzantine method that was not at all clear. We tried many different attempts to access the correct ticket but found that to be impossible, and the admission people at the cathedral were unyielding and would not let her enter—even though it was clear from the email I had forwarded to her that I had paid. Bottom line: any tour operator that requires a deep dive into various links to access your tickets should be avoided at any cost. It’s worth noting that this operator states upfront that it does not refund buyers. How convenient.

Viator did not send me a QR code required to enter the Cathedral. I had to purchase new entry tickets at the door. I called Viator multiple times for assistance but to no avail.

13 Geese of the Cathedral with an amazing rooftop.
Enjoyed hearing the history of the church. There was some construction going on but it was okay. I enjoyed the museum that was included also. Was surprised to learn about the geese! And don’t forget to check out the views from the rooftop!

Rude staff
Group of 4 mum, Nan, daughter and great aunt. We knew we would have to cover our shoulders and had knee length shorts with shirts. Young man vetting people let others in with skimpy shorts and strappy tops, others he was telling they could buy a wrap inside to cover up. He blankly refused to let us in unless we put trousers on. Luckily our hotel is 2 minutes away so off we went to get trousers. Very selective about who he let in and who he didn’t wearing skimpy clothes. Very rude young man clearly forgetting tourism pays his wages
Operator response
Dear Ruth E,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear about the frustrating experience your family had regarding the dress code enforcement at the entrance.
Please kindly note that the security personnel and entrance checks are managed entirely by the official Barcelona Cathedral authorities, and as a third-party ticket provider, we unfortunately have no control over their staff's behavior or entry decisions.
However, we deeply care about our guests' experiences and will pass your feedback along to the monument's management to highlight this issue. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
P

Disappointed…
I arrived at the cathedral in good time… And the app to be honest with you could have been better. I struggled to find the ticket on my phone and the staff at the cathedral took an hour trying to find it also. They spoke very good English and was savi on computers and mobile phones… It was very frustrating and stressful not knowing if I was going get in or not the staff did say that they have problems with Tripadvisor linking in with another company and it’s difficult to get the actual ticket on the screen… the staff tried calling the helpline number twice and it rang out for at least five minutes each time no one was there to help. Disappointing! The cathedral itself was very very good.. I got in 45 minutes later than I expected … I don’t really want this stress next time. I’ll buy the tickets at the entrance. It will save me so much hassle. I shall be wary of this company next time I’ll see if there’s an alternative way of booking.
Operator response

A must-do!
We were there around 12:30 PM. There were few people, it was very pleasant. Remember to cover your shoulders and legs to be able to enter!
The interior is very beautiful, and the ascent to the terrace also offers a stunning view of Barcelona.
