Description
On this experience, we explore the region’s wine heritage, travelling through historic vineyards and visiting traditional wineries and cellars. Learn about the production of Bairrada sparkling wine, often referred to as the Portuguese answer to Champagne, and discover the unique traditions that have shaped this renowned wine region. Depending on the availability on the day of your tour, we visit two of the region's traditional wineries and cellars. The wineries mentioned are examples of possible visits and are not guaranteed, as the final selection depends on availability and opening schedules on the day. If you would like to experience one of Bairrada’s most famous specialities, we can recommend a traditional restaurant serving Bairrada suckling pig (Leitão da Bairrada). Lunch is not included in the tour price. Alternatively, we can recommend other local restaurants, depending on your preferences and availability. Lunch is optional and paid directly at the restaurant.

It was a pleasure to spend the day with Xavier. It felt like we were touring the wine country with an old friend who was both knowledgeable about local culture and passionate to ensure we enjoyed our tour. The stops he picked gave us a great spectrum of the wine culture in this region as well as the ability to enjoy the local flavor of food, wine and people.
This was such an interesting tour. The ride to the wineries was comfortable and beautiful, our lunch was delicious and the underground museum was so interesting. Our guide was super knowledgeable and kind. Overall 10 out of 10
