Stellar Experience! Favorite!
This was the best experience! The hosts went above and beyond to give us and the other guests a wonderful evening. From the warm welcome, introductions, hands on cooking, tour of the farm, the animals, getting to know about their family…it doesn’t get more authentic than this. A must do when in Crete!

Awesome experience
Make sure your driver calls the number available to get directions. GPS was kind of tricky. We loved learning about the family and their farm. Seeing all the farm animals and cooking in their outdoor kitchen.

Amazing Day!!
So Much More Than a Cooking Class!
We had the most wonderful day at Veggera. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like a cooking class and more like being welcomed into a Cretan family’s home.
Brother and sister Paraskevas and Sophia started Veggera together two years ago, and they are truly what makes this experience so special. They are both adorable, warm, funny and incredibly engaging. Paraskevas greeted us with a personality that radiated warmth from the moment he said hello, and Sophia was equally friendly, charming—personable, and a wonderful instructor. Her motto for cooking was “as you feel”—there was no wrong way to do anything. Just relax, cook and enjoy.
Their parents’ beautiful home is surrounded by lemon and pomegranate trees, prickly pear, gardens and fresh herbs—even an old rowboat converted into an herb garden. We began with coffee and cookies and a chance to meet the other guests before gathering around the tables to cook.
We chopped fresh, homegrown zucchini, onions potatoes, tomatoes, dill and other vegetables and herbs along with feta cheese and goat cheese. We rolled our own dough abd stuffed with cheeses and inions and helped prepare a wonderful feast of lamb, sheep and fresh vegetables, which Sophia cooked in their wood-burning oven.
While our meal cooked, Paraskevas showed us around the property, where we fed the goats, saw rabbits and birds, and even had the opportunity to milk the goats if we wanted to. Their parents were there helping as well, which made the experience feel even more authentic and family-oriented. Nothing felt staged or touristy—it genuinely felt like a family opening their home and sharing their life and traditions with us.
There were 14 of us, all strangers when we arrived. Somewhere between cooking, laughing, feeding goats and sharing a delicious meal around the table, strangers became friends.
The perfect ending came when Paraskevas took out his mandolin and began to play while Sophia got everyone up and led us in a traditional dance. Soon everyone was laughing, dancing and enjoying the music together.
Five hours later, I honestly didn’t want it to end. Paraskevas and Sophia have created something incredibly special—food, family, friendship and genuine Cretan hospitality all wrapped into one unforgettable experience.
We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Crete. Don’t miss it!

Wonderful experience of Cretan farm and cooking
This is much more than just a cooking class; it is an opportunity to experience the authentic Cretan way of life. We spent a beautiful afternoon with this hospitable family that opened their home to us and allowed us to share in their culture. Truly a memorable experience! Would 100% recommend.

Best Experience You Might Ever Have!
The best advice I can give you is to STOP READING and JUST BOOK the Veggera Experience! Trying to explain how wonderful the Kourakis Family is would be impossible. It is hosted on their family farm, and it was one of the most genuine and authentic experiences we have ever had.
After spending an afternoon preparing food, eating, seeing all the farm animals, and enjoying their homemade wine we truly felt like family! It started raining on us so they even opened up the inside of their home so we could enjoy the rest of our meal. Almost everything comes from their farm!
Seeing the animals, playing with kittens, and milking the goats were the highlight for my girls. Enjoying their homemade drinks, music, and dancing were my favorite and my wife left happy knowing her entire family felt so at home here.
We feel like we need to return to Crete to spend more time with the Kourakis Family. They truly are wonderful and this experience is one of a kind! Book it and you won't be disappointed!

Book the cooking class!!!
This was hands down one of the best and most authentic experiences we have ever done. From the moment we arrived, we truly felt like we were being welcomed into a family rather than attending a cooking class.
We spent the day cooking authentic Cretan dishes, drinking their homemade wine, eating, laughing, and just chatting like we had known each other forever. They took the time to walk us around their entire property, where we got to milk the goats, see how everything comes together, and experience a side of Crete that you simply cannot get from a typical tourist activity. We even got to meet their grandmother, whose property has the grapes they use to make their wine — such a special and personal part of the experience.
What really stood out to us was how genuinely generous and passionate they were. They kept telling us to stay as long as we wanted, and honestly, we didn’t want to leave! We even tried to tip them TWICE, and they absolutely refused both times. It was so clear that they weren’t doing this for the money — they genuinely love their culture, their family, their food, and sharing it with other people.
This felt so much more meaningful than just taking a cooking class. It was an authentic glimpse into Cretan life, family, traditions, and hospitality. We left feeling like we had made friends and gotten to experience something truly special.
We cannot recommend this experience enough. One of our favorite experiences we have ever done, and something we will remember forever!

Absolutely wonderful...
Absolutely wonderful experience. The cooking was only a small part of this but experience. While the cooking was great and the food was fantastic spending a day with an actual creation family, seeing parents and grandparents and how they’ve lived lives over the years was absolutely amazing. We toured their farm and enjoyed a great meal and met fellow travelers along the way, would highly recommend.
