he Agora was the heart of ancient Athens, the focus of political, commercial, administrative and social activity, the religious and cultural centre, and the seat of justice. The site was occupied without interruption in all periods of the city's history. It was used as a residential and burial area as early as the Late Neolithic period (3000 B.C.). Early in the 6th century, in the time of Solon, the Agora became a public area.

The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological site-specific museum, housing more than 3.000 famous artefacts from the Athenian Acropolis, the most significant sanctuary of the ancient city. A tailor made museum building with extensive use of glass ensures breathtaking views of the Acropolis, the surrounding historic hills and the modern city of Athens and immediate views of the archaeological excavation that lies below the Museum, visible through large expanses of glass floor. With the benefit of the changing natural light, visitors can discern and discover the delicate surface variations of the sculptures and select the vantage point from which to observe the exhibits.

Our guide Apostolos was awesome! We knew we wanted to visit the Acropolis and have some great authentic food (he took us to the BEST) but he also took us to the highest hill to see 360 views. He also showed us a great place to shop and get some drinks to take back with us to the rental. He was so great and made our day fantastic!

We had a wonderful day in Athens with our driver and guide. I highly recommend this tour for families with teenagers or kids. We all enjoyed the air conditioning car and it was a nice blend of walking/driving. The tour covers a lot of information but our guide was great at explaining everything. I was also happy to see most of the important things in Athens in one day since we had a limited timeframe in Athens. Thanks again for a wonderful tour.

We were a party of three and, used VIP Tours Athens for a full day tour of Athens. From the outset communication with the company was fantastic. We had the option to purchase tickets to all the locations we were visiting the day or, VIP Tours would take care of this on our behalf, we opted for the latter as, again, it just made it far easier for us knowing that everything was taken care of. Our driver, Michael, was just amazing from start to finish. He arrived slightly earlier than expected to collect us from our hotel but, we were under no pressure to rush. Michael was chatty, personable, very knowledgeable and, we felt completely safe with him. We communicated via WhatsApp throughout the day which, worked very well. The car was perfect, fully air conditioned which, was needed as it was an extremely hot day but, again, Michael was on hand thought out the day with bottles of cold water which, was very much needed. We would recommend VIP Tours to anyone visiting the area and, if we were to return, we wouldn’t hesitate in using them again.
