The Daphni Monastery was founded towards the end of the sixth century A.D. on the site of the Sanctuary of Apollo which had been desecrated by the Goths in 395. The Sanctuary of Apollo was built in the Ionic style using the thinnest and smallest columns. The columns stand on a base with an ornamental scroll at the top. A few of the columns of the temple have been preserved. One of the four Ionic columns of the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo remains at the site, as it was re-used in the Daphni Monastery. The other columns were removed and taken to London by Thomas Bruce, Earl of Elgin (of Elgin Marbles fame). The columns, column bass, and column tops from the Sanctuary of Apollo are currently in the possession of the British Museum.

For 1-4 passengers the tour will be provided with a Mercedes Benz Eclass. For 5-8 travellers the tour will be provided with a Mercedes Benz Minivan.For 9-20 passengers the tour will be provided with a Mercedes Benz Sprinter. a) We can pick up customers from where ever they want inside in the region of Athens,aibnb,hotels,metro stations,bus stations,apartments.We just need after the booking a short communication to agree the pickup point. b) The pick up point can be Also from the Cruise Terminal or the Ath Int Airport.Please provide to us as soon as possible details like Name of the ship / airline , arrival time and number of flight.Please also provide us any other details you need about your pick up. c) If there is a Strike in The city Center or a special event that effects the tour,the tour may change start time or ITINERARY under the instructions of the operator and the agreement of the customer d) Please provide as much as possible contact details to the operator even after the booking e) Please mention to the operator if there are Health restrictions f) If the booking will start from Ath Int Airport the time of the tour start to count from the pickup of the customer,so do not stress your self in cases of Delay of flights g) If the tour is combined with a transfer the Maximum Luggage ( american size 32kl) can be no more than 3 and the start time of the tour starts at the time of the first pickup eg :( There is a customer that buys a tour starting from Cruise terminal but first he/she wants to be transferred to his Hotel to do the check in and then to start the tour. ) if the customer wants extra services than the ones that paid for,the operator will charge him extra and the payment will be done to the driver in cash or credit card.

Panos was very attentive and informative. Pick us up at the airport on time 11am and took us straight to the Acropolis. Then Ancient Agora. Then lunch. Only downside is the restaurant included w/tour is 30-40 mins AWAY from all attractions. So you lose a lot of time! There’s so many wonderful restaurants close by. The restaurants right in front of Ancient Agora are excellent! When we finally got back from lunch, we drove around the Parliament and saw the guards walk (not the change of guards). Then the stadium. After the stadium, it was 5pm. Panos offered to take us to temple of Zeus but we were exhausted our long flights, sun burnt (walking around Acropolis). Panos dropped us off at our hotel and helped us w/bags. I recommend this tour, just not beginning from airport (1 hours away from airport).

This tour was fantastic. Very convenient as picked us up from our cruise boat in the morning and dropped us at our accommodation at the end of the tour - what to do with our bags taken care of. It was just my son and I with the driver so we had discretion and an air conditioned car to get into after viewing each attraction. The lunch that come as part of the tour was superb and we got to take the leftovers with us! Last but not least - our driver Achilles was wonderful and made the busy schedule of sight seeing a breeze.

This was a great experience to get a taste of the great parts of Athens! George was our driver and he was very professional. He did his best to tell us everything about each stop and things we drove past. His passion for his country rings through just as much as his joy in sharing it with us. We did a morning tour finishing with lunch at an amazing local fish restaurant. Having a dedicated driver to each place makes a huge difference! My only advice - after you book this tour go online to order your tickets for the Acropolis *not necessary just saves you waiting in the queue. And be hungry! The provided food is a large sampling of local cuisine.

WOW! what a fantastic evening with a terrific guide! Achilles was so knowledgeable and kind. He knew all the best spots and stories to go along with it. We had a beautiful dinner with a variety of foods from Greece to top it off! His vehicle was very nice and clean too!

Tried this excursion because we have a limited time in Athens, we are embarking on a cruise the following day.
