Antigua Coffee Tour by Local Producers

We had an amazing tour with De La Gente. Our guide/ translator Angela and the coffee farmer Angel showed us the coffee plantation and explained the whole life cycle of the plants! There were only the two of us on the tour so we could ask lots of questions and even learned about Guatemalan culture and history as well. The coffee was delicious and we got to take two bags away. Cannot recommend enough!

MUST DO IN ANTIGUA!! The most amazing coffee tour you will ever go on!!! A very authentic experience getting to see the actual farms and help make the coffee from beans to cup. Juan Carlos was our guide and you do not get any better than him so friendly and knowledgeable and wanted to teach everything he knows. Our translator Angela was also so kinda and her English was fluent.

Truly a phenomenal experience - very humbling and cool to see how coffee is made step by step, and the generations that have went into making local Guatemalan coffee. It was great to be taken into Ingrid's world and Luis was an exceptional translator.

We did a half day coffee tour with De la Gente and it was a highlight of our trip to Guatemala. Everything was extremely well organized. We loved meeting the farmer and his wife (Elisandro and Hilda) and touring his coffee farm. Our interpretor was able to answer questions as well (Danillo I believe). After, we made delicious coffee at the farmer's house. De la Gente is a fantastic non profit that allows these small farmers that have worked for generations growing coffee to continue. These tours also allow the farmers to have some income outside of harvest season. I would highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely amazing experience! The translator, farmer and his family were so kind, and very genuine.. it truly felt like an authentic Guatemalan experience. I did this with a group, and if I lead another one here we are 100% going to do this tour again!

The coffee farmer was super authentic and his passion for coffee is what made this activity special! Instead of going with a big cooperation we choose to take this experience with an individual farmer who is taking care of his coffee. We enjoyed this experience and recommend it to everyone that want an authentic experience!

What an amazing experience. Miguel (the producer) and Luis (the interpreter) were so accommodating and willing to answer any and all questions our group had. Miguel is a font of knowledge, and Luis was able to add in details about his family's experience as well since he was from the community. We spent about 45 minutes to an hour in the field and another hour at Miguel's home, where his wife, Rosa, showed us how to roast, grind, and brew a delicious cup of fresh coffee. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves coffee. Oh, and if you get car sick, like I do, know that the shuttle is only about 10-15 minutes. The farms are very close to Antigua.

Absolutely incredible experience! José was an amazing guide, and Gabi, our interpreter, was equally wonderful. They were both so genuine, welcoming, and humble—it truly felt like being invited into their home rather than just taking a tour. I absolutely adore Antigua, and this tour ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. You can feel the passion, care, and authenticity in everything they do. I'll definitely continue supporting them moving forward. I honestly wouldn't change a single thing—it was perfect from start to finish. The timing was just right, and every moment felt meaningful. If you're visiting Antigua, this is an absolute **must-do**. I can't recommend it highly enough!
