Antigua ATV Coffee Tour
Description
During this tour we visit a local coffee plantation located in the nearby city of Jocotenango. From the office you will follow a local guide on the ATV’s for about a 15 minute ride to the coffee plantation “La Azotea” located in city of Jocotenango. Once at La Azotea, you will receive a bilingual tour of the plantation where you are able to learn and see the various processes of the coffee producing, making, and packaging that goes into serving a good cup of coffee. The coffee tour in the plantation lasts about 1 hour once finished you will walk around the plantation with the local guide to see check out the plants and you could also grab a drink or snack. Once finished at the plantation you will hop back on the ATVs and head over to "El Cerro de la Cruz" to visit one of Antigua’s most well-known and visited landmarks. After getting a close-up bird’s eye view of the colonial city, we hop back on the vehicles and head back to our office.

Once at La Azotea you will receive a in depth bilingual tour from the plantations guide, you will be able to see various process of the coffee producing, making, and packaging that goes to serve a good cup of JOE. The coffee tour lasts about 1 hour once finished you will walk around with our local guide.
Once finished at the plantation you will hop back on the ATVs and head over to "El Cerro de la Cruz" to visit one of Antiguas most well known and visited landmarks. Getting here is easier than taking the hundreds of steps, and we enjoy a bird's eye view of the colonial city.

I was so nervous at the beginning of this tour as I’ve never driven an ATV. Alex was our guide. He showed us how to use the machines, which are automatic so pretty easy to understand. He was so careful to make sure that there was plenty of time for us to cross streets as a group so no one was left behind. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of both the coffee farm and Cerro de la Cruz. Overall a fantastic experience that I would definitely do again.

What an incredible experience! The ATV tour out to the coffee fields was one of the highlights of our trip to Antigua. There's something special about getting off the beaten path and riding through the gorgeous Guatemalan landscape — the views alone were worth it. The tour was well organized, the guide was knowledgeable and fun, and we learned so much about the coffee-growing process, from plant to cup. Seeing the fields up close and understanding the care that goes into every bean gave us a whole new appreciation for Guatemalan coffee. The Antigua ATV Coffee Tour was brilliant from start to finish. Erick really made the day, his passion for Antigua and coffee is infectious, and his coffee addiction actually adds to the fun because he knows the subject inside out. He’s honest, easy to talk to, and has a great way of bringing together mixed groups so everyone feels involved. On top of that, he takes fantastic photos, which means you come away with memories that look as good as they felt. Between the ride up to Cerro de la Cruz, the coffee and chocolate tasting, and Erick’s energy, this was one of the highlights of my limited time in Antigua.

Fun and informative. Erick was a very friendly and enthusiastic guide, gave us background info on Mayan culture. He spoke surprisingly good English. He watched out for our safety. Interesting afternoon activity. Much recommended.
