We booked our transfer from Anchorage to Seward through Welcome Anchorage. We loved their itinerary, being able to stop and experience the wildlife conservatory, a short hike to glaciers and lunch was enjoyable. Elizabeth, our driver was kind and so knowledgeable. Picked us up right on time and even let make a quick shopping trip to Safeway for some supplies before dropping us off at our VRBO. I would highly recommend Welcome Anchorage, if you don't want to rent a car and want the same scenery as the train, but more stops to enjoy the journey.
We were able to have an ADA van with a wheelchair ramp and tie down for one of our 5 passenger so we could get transport to the Anchorage airport with a fabulous tour and knowlegeable guide. The cost was reasonable for our needs and great tour and guide from a local.
The Anchorage to Seward Tour was great. We saw Dahl sheep, waterfalls, glaciers, lakes, and had a delicious lunch in Girdwood. Our tour guide, Mark, was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
Thank you so much for joining us on a tour and for taking the time to leave us such a nice review. We will let Mark know that you enjoyed the tour and we are happy you were able to enjoy the beauty of Alaska
Today we had this great tour back to Anchorage. Sherry was wonderful. She took care of us and was making sure, that everybody is happy and confedible. She has showed us so many places from this beautiful state. Was not expecting all this, so it was a nice surprise. She explained everything and answered all questions. You could tell, that she loves what she is doing. I'm glad, that I booked the tour, otherwise I would not be able to see all this. Can recommend this tour with Sherrye. You will have fun and get the feeling to come back to see more.
Thank you so much for joining us on a tour and for taking the time to leave us a wonderful review. We are very appreciative of our amazing staff and tour guides for going above and beyond and we will make sure to share your kind words for Sherrye we are glad you could see and experience the beauty that is Alaska
Dustin with Welcome Anchorage Tours is fantastic! He picked us up at our hotel and after getting several other passengers, he started the tour. Dustin provided interesting commentary and history along the drive, leaving plenty of quiet time for rest. He took us to the stunning Byron Glacier trailhead for an optional 1 mile hike to see the glacier up close. The trail is along a gorgeous stream with spectacular views at every turn, and is an easy walk even for older persons. We had several other stops on the way to Seward, including at the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center, where we had up close views of bears, musk ox, and other Alaskan animals. It was an excellent tour and Dustin is a great guide.
Thank you so much for choosing to take a tour with us and we are happy to know Dustin made this an unforgettable time in sharing Alaska's beauty and his knowledge we appreciate your taking the time to leave us such a kind review
One of the best tour opprations I've experienced. Elizabeth was our tour guide, and driver. She provided informtion about picking us up at our Anchorage hotel, did an amazing job in providing information about each of the sites we visited, and provided drop-off at our hotel in Seward. Over-all and amazing operation.
CHEATED!!! OUR GUIDE SKIPPED 2 1/2 HOURS OF THIS 6-HOUR TOUR. He was friendly, helpful and prompt, and shared a lot of information about the area while driving. There was only one other couple on our tour, which should have made the stops manageable even in the light rain. I did not have the itinerary with me, but at the end of the tour, I was disappointed. I'd researched the itinerary for this tour and had expected much more. Looking back on the tour description, I realized our guide skipped much of what was promised. After pickup, we headed out of Anchorage with NO CITY TOUR, NO VISIT TO EARTHQUAKE PARK or LAKE HOOD SEA PLANES--not even a mention of what should have been the first hour of our tour. The one hour allotted to "Exploring Girwood" included a comfort stop and pastry/coffee shop. NO MENTION OF ALYESKA RESORT, which I understood to have beautiful views, but I will never know. We did not see Virgin Creek Falls, and I did note the "weather permitting" caveat in the description of the tour, but our guide didn't mention it at all. The itinerary promised a 1/2 mile walk to Bryon Glacier (no weather caveat). When we stopped at Portage Glacier, there was a light rain and we four were under umbrellas or the hoods of rain jackets. There was no mention of Bryon Glacier.
Great experience. Guide Mark was informative and engaging. Saw a lot of Alaska.
Karen, Thank you so much for choosing our Anchorage to Seward Tour and taking the time to share your experience. That means so much to us! Hope you remember Alaska fondly and come again to visit! Cheers, Jen
If you’re visiting Anchorage, don’t miss a tour with Welcome Anchorage Tours, especially if you’re lucky enough to have James as your guide. James was, without question, the best tour guide we’ve ever had. His knowledge of Anchorage, Alaska, and the surrounding area was extraordinary, but what really set him apart was his ability to tailor the tour to our interests rather than simply reciting a scripted presentation. Every stop included fascinating local insights, history, and stories that only someone with deep roots in the community could share. We were in Anchorage on my husband’s birthday after what could have been a long, tiring day of travel. Instead, James turned it into one of the highlights of our trip. His warmth, flexibility, and genuine enthusiasm made the experience both relaxing and unforgettable. If you’re looking for an authentic, personalized tour with someone who truly knows and loves Alaska, we couldn’t recommend Welcome Anchorage Tours and James more highly.
Professional driver Clint excellent job
