We took this tour as a group of four and had a wonderful time. Two of our group were the fisherman, but my wife and I also thoroughly enjoyed the day. Ryan picked us up at our AirBNB and we stopped along the way for snacks and food. He took us about 90 minutes from Anchorage to a nice stream for fishing. Ryan was very personable, had all the equipment we needed. He was great on instructing us on the various forms of fishing for the different fish in the stream -- whether Salmon, trout, or others, and he knew his prime fishing spots. He was enthusiastic about Alaska and the outdoors and it made the experience very memorable. Although it was a typical overcast and misty day, we caught multiple fish, and the whole group had a wonderful time whether they individually caught fish or not. This was definitely one of our highlights of the Alaska trip. It was nice to get into the woods and just relax doing some fishing and enjoying nature.

Description
This unique Alaskan experience is the only one like it offered in the Anchorage area. Get out and enjoy the beauty of Alaska! On a clear day we'll see as many as four mountain ranges in Southcentral Alaska. We'll spend our time on a beautiful small stream within about an hour's drive of Anchorage. We'll provide hip waders so you can get your feet wet without getting your feet wet. We'll provide quality Orvis fly rods, and "normal gear" as an alternative. All you'll need is clothing appropriate to spend the day in the Alaska wilderness. Relax and enjoy the fishing, we'll take care of all the messy work and heavy lifting - except perhaps lifting the heaviest fish of the day from the water!

The guide was great, the fishing was just OK.
It was nice to be able to go fishing with my wife, who is not a "fisher-woman" by any means. The guide was very patient and helped to instruct us both in flyfishing techniques. He even picked us up from our VRBO location which was awesome and drove us about an hour out of town with one other couple. I just wish I would have caught something. My wife on the other hand did great and caught 3 fish, so she had an amazing time. But we stayed in the exact same spot in the river the entire time. After about 2 1/2 hrs in the same spot I did get to move to another location just upstream, but the water was moving too fast and had almost no clearing to work the line. None the less I had a wonderful experience and learned a lot. I would definitely recommend for novices like myself. I also recommend wearing 2 sets of socks.

Everything was smoothly...
Everything was smoothly executed from pick up to drop off. The day on the river was everything we wanted and Ryan was wonderful as our guide. He was always ready to help and introduced us to a lovely stretch of river that produced fish. I would book again without hesitation.
