We had a wonderful tour with Joan, a true Alaskan. The tour was very informative, a great way to learn about the local history and culture. We were overall very happy with this tour.
Very much enjoyed this tour. The tour director did a wonderful job and was very friendly and courteous. The only complaint I have is it wasn’t very clear where the pickup place was. I would definitely recommend!
Our tour guide was named Joan. She is a native Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage so she was very familiar with the history of the area. She lives off grid and provided lots of information on that lifestyle as well. She took us to several interesting shops where we had time for souvenir shopping. Very happy with our tour!
A great way to see Anchorage. We only had a few hours in Anchorage and this tour fit our time schedule. Great chocolates, fish and sausage tastings. The history and culture parts were also new to me and entertaining and enlightening.
Interesting, not too much driving. Plenty of stuff to buy but no pressure. Included businesses and public points of interest. Guide was knowledgeable and interesting.
Dan was our tour guide to explore Anchorage and we could not have had a better guide. Dan was upbeat, knowledgeable, and friendly. We saw so many places on our tour. Some we passed by with a detailed history of each place. We stopped at the Uli knife store, the chocolate factory with free samples and the huge chocolate fountain, and a very unique fur store with amazing merchandise. We also went to the float plane marina to see the planes. This was an amazing tour and a very special way to get your introduction to Anchorage. Dan was the best tour guide!
My mom and I had an extra day in Anchorage following a work meeting. We wanted to hit the highlights and had an easier time doing so with our tour guide. She was full of information and answered everyone's questions. I think our favorite stop was to Alaska Sausage & Seafood Co. - lots of sampling delicious fish and sausages. We also lucked out to see a moose! The van kept the tour small, which was nice.
Great tour. Excellent guide. Joan is the best,
Joan was great. Very knowledgeable about anchorage and Alaska. Tour started and ended on time. Thanks
This is less of a sightseeing tour and more of a unique shopping opportunity. Our guide, Dan, was very knowledgeable of the area and extremely personable. He is clearly enamored with his adoptive hometown and that enthusiasm is evident throughout the tour. That being said, the stops on the tour are unique shopping opportunities for Anchorage visitors. Ironically, the billed chocolate tasting experience was a bit underwhelming with just a platter of samples laid out. At the other stops, there was a demonstration (ulu factory) or curated tasting (sausage and seafood factory). My husband has mobility limitations, and Dan was extremely helpful getting him in and out of the van at the stops.
We are glad you enjoyed your tour guide, Dan. The tour is a look into the Alaskan culture. Every stop is an inside look inside of Alaska. There were many more chocolates for you to sample, not sure why you only chose from the tray on the counter. Please enjoy your time in Alaska.
