The Amstel flows through the city of Amsterdam and ultimately into the city's canal system and the IJ waterfront. The city of Amsterdam takes its name from a dam ("dam") built on the Amstel in the 13th century—hence "Amstel-dam." Cruise the Amstel while enjoying a 3-course dinner.
One of Amsterdam’s many bridges is the beautiful Magere Brug, known to English speakers at the Skinny Bridge. This wooden drawbridge was once so narrow that it was hard for two pedestrians to pass each other. To cope with increasing traffic on the Amstel, a wider bridge replaced the narrow original in 1871.

Elegant and relaxing dinner cruise. The staff was great. They were very attentive and the food was great! I highly recommend this dinner cruise.
The cruise itself was delightful. We went all up and down the Amstel river and several canals for over two hours enjoying views of the city we could not otherwise have done. The service on board was excellent. However, we sweltered under the stifling glass covering with very little ventilation. The food was mostly pretty good but the beef on the main course had a lot of gristle in it, it seemed to me to be a cheap cut like london broil. But the worst thing was that despite the quite expensive fee for the experience, they still charged extra for all the beverages, even plain water! You'd think that for the hefty price, you would have at least been given a bottle of water to drink. I can understand charging extra for alcohol, but water?!?! And coffee and tea!?!? Not good. I would recommend this experience but a) don't go on a warm evening, b) don't order the beef, and c) be prepared to spend extra if you want to quench your thirst.
Boat was exceptional, fresh flowers, amazing food and hosts were wonderful. Highly recommend! We were blown away!
The Canal Dinner Cruise did not show up at the meeting point that was advertised. Unfortunately I can’t rate this trip because I wasn’t picked up.
The boat is the right size without too many tables. The food was prepared by a restaurant owner and picked up during the cruise. The food was excellent and far surpassed our expectations.
