Cold food, disappointing.

Second time we have done this cruise whilst in the Dam and unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I remember. Very friendly staff, efficiently organized but the food was not great. Some horrible cold, raw meat for starters, the pea soup was lukewarm and pretty grim tasting, the main course was cold by the time it came around to serving it and the dessert was tasty but basically a mouse full of fresh air. Nice ambience in board, we were lucky to be sat next to an Australian couple who were very chatty and keen to hear what we had to say. It was obvious this wasn’t the case on many other tables. Not ideal sharing a meal with complete strangers. The drink on board, probably understandably wasn’t very forthcoming, we had to practically beg for more. It would have been nice to hear a little more information about where we were and the history of the places and buildings that we passed as most of the time we were literally in the dark. A real shame as the first time we did this it really was an excellent experience but alas not this time around.

Skip the dinner, and eat somewhere else.

The vegetarian option was supposed to be a vegetable lasagna. I had to ask what it was cause it had no flavor and the consistency of paste. Husband had meat option and said the beef was loaded with grizzle.

A must do with a special person

It was truly a very romantic experience. It gave us some to be intimated and enjoys the scenery and learn a little bit of history.

Truly a special experience

This experience was wonderful. The food was 5 star and the drinks were never empty. The city was amazing to see at night with the lighted canals. Truly special. The only reason for one less star was a very loud and disruptive guest sitting across the isle from us. He stood in the isle for half the trip and spoke and laughed so loudly it was awful. I wish the crew or captain would have asked him to take a seat and speak softly so as no to disturb the other guests.

This tour doesn't really match the price point. Take a less expensive tour for the views and skip the dinner part.

Please be aware that tables are shared so not every party gets a window seat. We did but the couple sharing the table with us were outraged that they didn't and proceeded to have a fit the entire dinner. It made for a pretty uncomfortable experience to say the least. The boat glides slowly through the canals giving one a beautiful evening view of Amsterdam. The dinner was just okay. For "unlimited beer and wine" the only choices we were given were uninspiring red, white or blush wines- nothing else. Using the one chemical toilet on board was difficult as you couldn't leave your table without making everyone on your side get up. With our VERY angry table mates this wasn't easy and added to the overall less than ideal experience. Dinner was just okay. Most of it was luke warm. For the price point that we paid I don't feel it was worth it. Management should have tried to do SOMETHING rather than allow what happened to us happen.
