Three couples did this tour as an excursion from a Greek Isle cruise. In a trip filled with numerous highlights this experience really stood out. A successful tour requires a great destination augmented by an experienced guide and this excursion checked both boxes. Our guide, Tez, was amazing - informative, knowledgable, experienced and extremely personable. He provided the history of the area and an overview of the excavation of the ruins. We are a pretty inquisitive lot but he was able to answer all of our questions. Ephesus was one of the most remarkable places we have ever visited and Tez was able to provide insight and context to increase our appreciation of the site. The Terrace Houses, the library were highlights and, if you are offered the optional lunch, by all means take advantge of that.

Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them The State Agora, Odeon, Memnius Monument, the Temple of Domitian, , Polio Fountain, Curetes Street, The Trajan Fountain, The Baths of Scholastica, Hadrian Temple, Latrina, Celcus Library, the gate of Mihridates and Mazues, Commercial Agora and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. You can add Terrace houses in Ephesus by paying entrance fee during the tour

Terrace houses is included in "With Terrace Houses Option " Terrace Houses is located on skirt of Pion Mountain. There are 6 residential units which were built on three man-made terraces. These houses were settled by wealty citizens of Ephesus. These houses were very fancy decorated with wall frescoes and floor mosaics. There are many steps to ascend from bottom to top. Not recommended for people who has walking difficulties and acro-phobia (fear of heights).
After Lunch ( included ) You may visit St. John Basilica if you wish to visit. If not , you can replcae it with Arceological Museum of Selcuk. Entrance fees are included
The Temple of Artemis
You may stop close by Artemission Temple where there is only one column left. After the Temple, you can continue to visit other places or you can return back to Kusadasi. Entrance fees are included

Ephesus Private Tour with Lunch!
Ozzy was the best. He was great from the pick up point at the dock and we literally were the very first ones into Ephesus. He gave an incredible and knowledgable tour of the entire place at our pace, we move a little faster. Our excursions was customizable so he took us to an incredible leather store to buy some things and we saw many other sites. The last thing we did was go to a carpet manufacturing area that was great and had a very good lunch outdoors. Could not have asked for a more relaxing tour and great tour guide. Thank you

Amazing day in Ephesus
This tour of Ephesus was perfect! Emre had so much knowledge of the places and artifacts we were seeing. We enjoyed the history and stories that he told us. He always made sure that we had the time that we wanted in each area and checked with us frequently to make sure all was good. We chose the option to see the terrace houses and were glad that we did. Seeing these homes from ancient times was amazing. He offered options to see pottery, rug making and/or leather shops, but made it clear that those were options and up to us. I asked to see the pottery because I was genuinely curious and we were so glad that we did. There was never pressure to make a purchase, only a pride of sharing the craft. After having seen the pottery, and eaten lunch where the rugs were made (absolutely delicious!) I asked if we could walk around the rug shop without the demonstration. Emre took us through and explained the process and watching and hearing about it was fascinating. Again no pressure to purchase and we were so glad we did it. Overall it was a fantastic day and we couldn’t have been any happier.
