I decided to book this tour for my group of 8 people total. Anna helped me book and arrange everything in advance. She was very nice and pleasant to deal with. Even though the Mt Vesuvius tickets are no longer included, I told her we wanted to go and she explained to me how to get the tix and included it as a stop in our itinerary. Our tour guide, Catello (Watermelon) was simply amazing!!! He picked us up on time and spent the 1.5 hour drive to Vesuvius making our group laugh! When we were falling behind on our schedule Catello called the winery and Pompeii for us to reschedule our tour times! We appreciated all his hard work. He honestly made our trip go from nice to wonderful. Definitely book this trip and ask for Catello. It was worth the price.
Hands down. Best tour! So much fun. This was our biggest splurge in our 2 week trip to Italy & it was by far our favorite. Our driver was lovely and a great tour guide along the way.

Great trip and well worth the $. Our Pompeii guide Pablo, well spoken and fluent in English, was incredibly well informed, had a great sense of humor and gave us a wonderful tour full of subtle insights and interesting observations about everyday life in Pompeii before the eruption. Our driver Roberto, a native of Sorrento and also fluent in English, gave us in depth information about Sorrento, the Sorrento peninsula and Naples, the sort of information that only a native usually has. The wine tasting event was excellent, food was amazing and the views from the winery are spectacular.

Joe banana is amazing! So professional with a beautiful fleet of vehicles and the best staff. We did the Pompeii and winery tour as well as the 50 shades of lemons tour and both were just flawless!!! Ferdi, our driver, was kind, funny and so amenable to every ask - we were so sad to say goodbye to him and genuinely felt like friends by the end of our time together. It is so obvious how much he cares about his job and his clients. Anna, who organized the excursions for us, was also so kind and helpful - available pretty much 24/7. Lastly our Pompeii tour guide, Andrew was the best. Period. As a history lover, I was blown away at the care and effort he put into the tour to show us the lesser known and far less crowded but far more interesting parts of Pompeii. We used JoeBanana for the above tour which included private transfer from Naples Train station to Praiano and our return trip to the train station. Both drivers (Roberto and Ferdinando) were very kind, friendly and accommodating. The vans were luxury Mercedes and very clean and comfortable! I highly recommend JoeBanana! Actually our first tour with Banana Joe and Vicenzo as driver. Vicenzo met us when we got off the train from Rome. It was pouring rain and already there Vicenzo ran and fetched more umbrellas and ran up and back to the car to avoid getting wet. Further on the trip went to Pompeii and there we had booked our own guide through BananaJoe and everything went great. Super talented, committed guide who adapted to our children so that everyone could join us, then lunch at a vineyard and then Vesuvius. We were a little late for lunch but Vicenzo solved everything and ran up time so we just won with our entrance to Vesuvius. The whole day was amazing and Vicenzo as a driver made everything feel so easy and relaxing. I highly recommend booking through BananaJoe and their excursions and if you have the opportunity, please choose Vicenzo. However, I am convinced that all their staff are of the same high class. Maria who kept under administrative was super talented and super professional.

The communication since booking in April was poor. All the other private drivers and tours reached out at least a day before by whatsapp and provided us with a contact . I had to reach out to see who and what time the driver was picking us up. The tour timeline was not discussed with us by our driver. It was just my husband and me. And we assumed the itinerary would be flexible. We wanted to see a bit of Mt Vesuvius, not walk to the top. Since it was late morning , 10:15 am and it was already 95 degrees. Our driver wanted to pick us up at 12 but we insisted on 11:30. Next we went to the Cantina Del Vesuvio winery. That part of the tour was amazing, however, our driver needed us back at the car by 2pm to get to Pompeii. We had to eat lunch fast and try the wine fast. Our tour guide for Pompeii was excellent but I got overheated from drinking wine fast at lunch and lack of water to really enjoy Pompeii. The tour company advisor met our car in Sorrento to apologize for the day we had. She gave us some limoncello and listened to our suggestions. That was appreciated.

This document includes all relevant service details, including the confirmed pick up time and the meeting instructions for each part of the experience. This information is also clearly stated on our website. We truly apologize if this step was missed or unclear. Please rest assured that we take customer care very seriously, and we are genuinely disheartened to hear that our support felt insufficient. In fact, we receive thousands of guests each year, and we pride ourselves on the assistance we provide before, during, and after each tour. Regarding tour flexibility, please know that we always do our best to tailor the experience to our guests' preferences. That said, when the itinerary includes pre-booked entrance tickets or guided tours, we are bound to respect those schedules. These arrangements are made in advance specifically for our guests, to ensure they skip lines and enjoy the highest level of comfort. In your specific case, as the itinerary included entrance tickets to Mt. Vesuvius and a guided tour of Pompeii, the timing was designed to fit both experiences in a smooth and efficient way. Upon your arrival at Vesuvius, the driver, in accordance with the site’s regulations, dropped you off at the entrance and had to park at a distance. Once he reached the designated parking area, as is often the case on the volcano, cell phone reception was very limited. For this reason, he asked in advance what time you wished to be picked up. Initially, you confirmed 12:00 PM. However, shortly after, due to the heat, you decided to be picked up earlier at 11:30 AM. Despite the limited connectivity and the logistical challenge, we did our utmost to accommodate your new request. In fact, we coordinated with another of our drivers, who was on his way up the mountain, and kindly asked him to personally inform your driver, Raffaele, to return to the entrance as quickly as possible. As for the visit to the Cantina del Vesuvio winery, we understand you were there from approximately 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Based on the standard winery schedule, this is a generous timeframe for a relaxed lunch and wine tasting. We are sorry if you nonetheless felt rushed. Please know that we schedule these experiences to provide both enjoyment and comfort without stress. Furthermore, although we had no control over the cell phone reception issue at Mt. Vesuvius, we still wanted to express our apologies in person. For this reason, we asked your driver to briefly stop at our Sorrento office, where one of our assistants personally came to greet you and hand you a complimentary bottle of limoncello as a small token of goodwill. We were honestly quite surprised that our assistant was not even acknowledged with a greeting, despite her kind gesture and presence. While we understand that everyone may have different expectations and travel styles, we do believe that mutual respect is an essential part of every experience. We would like to assure you that we made every effort to ensure your day was enjoyable and well-coordinated. We regret that our efforts were not perceived as such, and we will certainly reflect on your comments as we continue to refine our services. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts with us. This was one of two days of Tours we did with Joe Banana as well as a transfer from the Naples airport to our rental. This organization is first class all the way. The customer service is top notch, Nunzia made sure every detail was handled, all changes requested were made and followed up at the end of each tour day. Our Driver Daniel was our new best friend. Skilled in the city, on the narrow winding roads, super attentive and honestly charming. After day one we requested him for our other reservations. Lastly our guide, Pier Paulo, at Pompeii and Hurculaneum was quite remarkable. Really knowledgeable, had the tours laid out really well so that we saw the sites and avoided the crowds. Great stores and terrific ability to make describe the cities as they were before the eruption. Do not hesitate to work with these people!
