Sultan Abu al-Nasr Sayf al-Din al-Ashraf Qaitbay (c. 1416/1418 – August 7, 1496) was the eighteenth Sultan of the Burji Mamluks. Born Circassian, he was purchased by Sultan Barsbay and later freed by Sultan Jaqmaq. During his reign, he stabilized the Mamluk state and strengthened its northern borders against the Ottomans. Though he led numerous military campaigns, Qaitbay is best remembered for his architectural patronage, leaving his mark on Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, Damascus, Aleppo, Alexandria, and Cairo.

Wife was amazed by the catacomb carvings
My wife was amazed by the detailed carvings in the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. She said they were beautiful and intricate. Our guide Tamer explained the symbols and meanings. We then visited the Bibliotheca and Qaitbay Citadel. The sea breeze was refreshing and we took photos. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The van was comfortable and clean. We had a great day and she was impressed. Admission fee was 50 usd each. Length of visit was about 6 hours. Atmosphere was amazed and educational. Crowd size was about 10 people in our group. Staff were experts in carvings. Best for couples who love detailed art. Yasser had given her a carving guidebook.

Great Day Tour to Alexandria
We had a great day in Alexandria. Everything was well organized and smooth from start to finish. The guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about Egyptian history, which made the visit to the ancient sites much more interesting. Transportation was comfortable and on time. Overall, it was a very nice experience and I really enjoyed the tour. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour. I loved my day in Alexandria the driver Amah was on time and drove responsible. I felt safe. He even shared some of the best Egyptian music to keep me entertained for the long ride.

Great Trip to Alexandria away from Crowded Cairo

Great tour in Alexandria .
I have enjoyed my tour in Alexandria with jet 7. The guide was informative and the driver was polite and could navigate the roads. The city was fabulous and the seafood there was delicious. I recommend this tour to anyone.
