Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
Visiting the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
You will also drive by Pompay's Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)
We will walk by the excavation site of the Old Roman City of Alexandria, including Roman villas, the Amphitheater Ruins, Alexandria's Great Tomb excavation site, and various ruins. Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
Once in Montaza Gardens, commonly known as the Love Garden (all romantic couples and families go there) you will visit the royal gardens of King Farouk (the last king in the history of Egypt) and see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek as well as walk along the famous Montaza bridge and reach the Tea Palace island and see the royal beaches of the queens. Then travel in comfort back to your hotel in Cairo.

Great experience! Our guide, Waleed, was truly amazing: knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The tour covers a lot of different sights and places, but for the most important ones we didn't feel like we were rushing through them. Absolutely worthwhile if you only have one day in Alexandria and want to cover as much as possible!

Discovery day in Alexandria with a very friendly, very interesting guide who knew how to help us discover his city, the corniche, and the city center. We loved the garden, the mosque, amazed by the library..and the catacombs..
We did Alexandria as part of a larger tour with Ramasside. Kerim met us in Alexandria and showed us all the main sites (Library of Alexandria, Fortress, gardens). Kerim was a blast. He was not only knowledgeable he made the trip fun. Drivers were on-time and safe. We did the 2 day option. If you do the main sites, its about 5 hours. So totatlly doable in the one day trip. Staying overnight was nice because our hotel was right on the ocean so after 9 days of 100+ weather it was a nice change.
Booking a tour with Headout to see the sights of Alexandria, Egypt for 7 hours. The cost of the tour included all the entrance fees. Mahmoud was our guide and he is very knowledgeable. His explanation of the history at each site was so informative. Mahmoud is an archaeologist and his Egyptian history is fantastic. This tour is a must do and hopefully you get to meet Mahmoud to enjoy Alexandria.
This is a must do while in Cairo & have a day to spare. This tour makes for a long day but worth it. Mohammed was truly an outstanding tour guide. You can tell he loves what he does. His knowledge of all things Egypt is incredible. Ask for Mohammed. Overall a wonderful tour full of lots of history.
The days we spent in Egypt were full of visits and activities, yet everything was very well organized. Mohamed Basuni was the group supervisor, and he followed our movements and schedule closely and helped resolve any issues that came up during the trip.
