One of a kind experience and worth every penny.
We had an awesome day from the moment Ashley picked us up. She was a safe driver and shared interesting information as well as answering all of our questions. Jake, our helicopter pilot was excellent, all the landings and take offs were smooth and we were able to see the mountains and glaciers perfectly. Jimmy took us out with his dogs, all of whom were wonderful, and we had a fantastic time. Holding the puppies was pretty special too. I highly recommend this day out. We loved it.
AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE ALASKA EXPERIENCE! 🚁🏔️🐾 Our experience with Alaska Helicopter Tours was truly one of the highlights of our Alaska trip! From beginning to end, everything was professional, welcoming, and incredibly well organized. Jason, our tour operator, picked us up right on time and got us there and back safely and comfortably. He was wonderful from beginning to end and made the entire day seamless. Our adventure began with a safety video, followed by a private, personal experience exclusively for our family. Having the experience to ourselves made it relaxed, intimate, and incredibly special. Our helicopter, piloted by Jake, took us up to the glacier where our adventure began. Jake was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe and comfortable. And the views… WOW! Flying over the majestic glaciers and mountains and seeing Alaska’s incredible wilderness from the air was absolutely breathtaking. We started our glacier dog sledding adventure with Jonah, who was fantastic, knowledgeable, and so much fun! We got to meet the dogs, learn about their individual personalities, and even hold the adorable 8-week-old puppies! 🐾❤️ I even had the opportunity to be a “musher” as we made our way across the glacier, which was an incredible experience I will never forget! Next stop… landing on the Knik Glacier! We had the opportunity to get out and walk around on the glacier and take in the incredible scenery up close. The colors, scenery, and sheer beauty surrounding us were something you simply cannot describe—you truly have to experience it for yourself! ❄️🏔️ The 2-hour tour was truly a FULL two hours—nothing felt rushed or cut short. Every moment was worthwhile. Having this be a private family experience made it even more personal and memorable. This is perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for a truly unforgettable Alaska adventure. And the cost was DEFINITELY worth it! This wasn't just an excursion—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that created memories our family will cherish forever. A huge thank-you to Jason, Jonah, Jake, and the entire Alaska Helicopter Tours team for making our day so special. FIVE STARS AREN'T NEARLY ENOUGH! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're visiting Alaska, put this experience at the top of your list. You will not regret it! This was our last excursion before heading home the next day—and what a way to end our Alaska vacation! We couldn't have asked for a more incredible final adventure or a better way to finish an unforgettable trip. ❤️🏔️🚁
I rarely write reviews, but this experience touched my heart so much that I couldn’t not share it. What an absolutely extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime Alaskan adventure! From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by people who were genuinely kind, welcoming, professional, and full of positive energy. Every person we encountered went above and beyond, and it made an already incredible experience feel truly magical. Ashley was our driver, and we absolutely loved having her with us. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely wonderful to spend time with. She made us feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. Sam was our pilot, and I have to admit, I was nervous! But he was absolutely fantastic. He made the flight feel smooth, safe, and so much fun. I’ll never forget looking out at the breathtaking Alaskan scenery and realizing I was actually experiencing something I had only dreamed about. And then there was Maddie, our dog sled musher. She was AMAZING! She was so cool, so knowledgeable, and such a perfect match for us. We loved her energy and her personality, and you could truly feel the love she has for what she does. Learning from her and experiencing the dogs up close was something I will carry with me for a very long time. Honestly, the scenery was breathtaking, the adventure was unforgettable, and the entire experience was incredible—but it was the PEOPLE who made it truly special. Ashley, Sam, Maddie, and everyone behind the scenes: thank you for putting so much heart into what you do. You gave us memories that we will talk about for years to come. ❤️ If you are considering this excursion, DO IT! You get so much more than you think you’re getting. You get an experience filled with adventure, beauty, kindness, laughter, and people who genuinely care about making your day unforgettable. Absolutely 5 stars!
Our glacier helicopter experience was absolutely amazing. Alaskan scenery is second to none. Thoroughly recommend this tour to anybody. A big shout out to our pilot Steven who went above and beyond to make this a memorable experience.
After days of rainy windy weather, we showed up for our glacier/dogsled tour. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to fly. There were alternatives. It turned out we were able to get to the glacier and become novice mushers! It was the most exhilarating excursion we had in Alaska. The real mushers were so knowledgeable and experienced. They allowed us to mush, if we wanted and we didn't leave wanting. Last but not least was the puppies. When we come back to Alaska, we want to do this again.
Absolutely amazing experience!! We had a blast with Stephen who was our amazing pilot! The ride up there was breathtaking and the dog mushing/sledding ended with a highlight of playing with some puppies!! Wonderful experience with an additional option of landing on Kinik Glacier up close with the azure blue waters! Once in a lifetime experience and 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Alaska!!
Great day trip for the family. Youngsters will absolutely love it. The dogs are the highlight of the trip, especially the puppies. The views of Knik Glacier are spectacular. The staff was friendly and spent time telling us about the area and dogsled history.
We had an amazing experience and met friendly & professional & enthusiastic guide and all other staff
We booked this tour as a multigenerational family of 5 and this was by far the highlight of our trip to Alaska. Out pilot, Matthias was so accommodating pointing out features of the glaciers and the surrounding mountains. Our mushers, Deke and Mady let us all take a turn in the rear mushing position..... our 9 yr old granddaughter was so proud that she was able to mush as well. To end the experience, we were able to cuddle with the 5 week old puppies before heading back to the heliport. I would highly recommend this excursion..... pricey but the memories will last forever.
