Itinerary
Recently voted the number sixth best beach in Australia by Tripadvisor, Mooloolaba Beach is known as one of the most beautiful beaches on the Sunshine Coast.
Flanked on one side by the ocean and the Mooloolah River on the other, Point Cartwright is a stunning beach, located at the base of the headland at the northern end of Kawana Beach. See the iconic Point Cartwright lighthouse and ocean themed mural-painted reservoir.
Alexandra Headland has a relaxed and laid back atmosphere that complements the soothing rolling surf and inviting beaches. Alexandra Headland's main attraction is its magnificent coastal frontage of beach, headland and parks extending for kilometres north and south.
Old Woman Island (or Mudjimba Island) is located 1km off the coast. There are a number of Aboriginal legends abound about the Island. One has it, the Island was the result of an epic battle between two men, Coolum and Ninderry, and a woman called Maroochy. The end result was that Coolum's head was knocked off and ended up in the ocean, creating Mudjimba Island. Mount Coolum, seven kilometers to the north, is now flat topped due to the lack of a head! There are various other legends involving Aboriginal women living on the island until old age, hence the "Old Woman" name.

This was such a great tour. Quick canal tour at the end, but the highlight for me was the high-speed and tricks on the open ocean. The tour guide even stayed longer at the island to make sure we all got to see the turtles. Honestly this was the highlight of our whole trip
Unfortunately we didn’t see much of the turtles, just a few heads bobbing on the surface. Also didn’t get to go into the water
We saw and followed three whales for a while and had a great view from all angles of the boat. The crew were so helpful and knowledgeable. The boat was comfortable and not crowded. The future plans for the provision of drinks will be perfect.
The trip was ok. Didn’t see much. The boat crew were great. You don’t want to go on such a small boat if you get sick. You also can’t see the whales as much from that height. If you’re on a bigger boat you can look over and at least see their size. You also need to stop the boat to go to the toilet. No tea of coffee can be served.
We had and amazing experience we seen 3 whales. It was great only having a small amount of people on the boat it was much easier to see the whales. The staff were great full of information about the whales and answered any questions. We stayed out longer than the time stated as we were having a great time and the whales were putting on such a show. So it made it hard to leave lucky we were the last for the day. I certainly recommend Adventure Rafting they won't disappoint.
From the moment you make contact with the crew you are made to feel welcome. Happy, helpful and fun. Now the whale watching. WOW. We were so lucky, saw plenty of tail slapping, small breaching then the best happens. Whilst we were floating around watching a pod from a distance another pod came within metres of us with their baby’s. That close that when they blew out their water we got covered with it. Humbling and amazing .
Despite the weather being a bit windy and the sea quite rough, we had a great time and were able to see a few whales including a couple of babies. Unfortunately a couple of passengers didn’t cope very well with the swell however the crew were very kind to them.
Loved it! 😁 Small boat excitement, great views, informative commentary AND whales! A truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!
Wow, Wow, Wow, this was an incredible experience, we seen at least 10+ Whales and a couple of dolphins. The skipper Anthony was great. Nina our host was truly amazing, her enthusiasm was contagious and her knowledge was outstanding. This was our first ever whale watching cruise and would recommend it to anybody that is thinking about doing it. Well worth the money. Thanks Nina and Anthony.
This was an enjoyable morning. Staff friendly and boat felt safe. At first no whales but the guides preserved and we finally came across 3 whales. I would recommend this company.
