Acropolis Delights: Private Acropolis & Food Tour

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Maria-Elena - she is an archeologist by training, spoke fluent English and was a fun to spend time with and learn from. As an added plus, she was very comfortable and enjoyable for our teenage daughters too. Perfect experience for our family of 4 to learn about the Acropolis and see the museum. We used greekingme to book many transfers and tours for our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens). We had a truly outstanding experience with every one of them. Our tours included: Private Acropolis Delights Tour (Acropolis & Food), Private Evening Tour with Meze Dinner, and Private Knossos & Food Tour. We also booked our transfers to/from the airport with greekingme as well as some more challenging logistics in Crete where we requested they hold our luggage while taking tours then transfer us to Elounda. Every single driver and guide that we had was outstanding. They were all passionate about sharing their country. They were all also very well educated and spoken outstanding English. The guides were highlights of our trip. I really can't say enough positive things about them. We also felt the vehicles were very nice and the drivers were always where they were supposed to be and on time. Each of our tours involved a food component and all of them were outstanding. I will give special note to our Heraklion food tour. I thought this one might be a bit questionable as Heraklion seemed to be more of an airport/port town. This food tour ended up being one of our teens' favorite activities (they rated it equal to the day we chartered a sailboat in Santorini!). We really enjoyed meeting the various merchants. And, the food was outstanding. It was my daughter's favorite meal of the trip! Really, truly an outstanding experience booking with greekingme!

Our guide, Eva, was the perfect person to show my family around Athens. She was smart, kind, and extremely knowledgable about the history and mythology. Combining the acropolis and a small food tour is a great way to squeeze in what Athens is really known for in one day. Thanks for giving my family a great day they will never forget!

This tour was recommended to us by friends and I am so glad we booked! Our tour guide was Vera and she is absolutely amazing. She is so knowledgeable and really patience with our boys, 8 and 9. We started off with the Acropolis tour which she really made it so interesting for them, especially all the stories of the Gods. I highly recommend booking the private if you have younger children like us. Following the Acropolis tour we started our food tour which again Vera made extremely interesting and we loved the selection of foods from the traditional breads, the meat and fish markets, our lunch finished with delicious pastries. Thanks Vera, you made our first taste of Greece very special.

We travelled to Athens for a family Spring Break trip and couldn't be happier with our experience booking this tour. Our group of 5 included our two children (ages 3 and 5) and the guide did a great job keeping them interested and engaged throughout. The food tour stops were excellent, the history and mythology lessons were interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She brought a binder with images and renderings of the historical sights we were seeing and notecards with the Greek gods for the kids. It was great and we highly recommend it.

We were in the port of Piraeus on a cruise and greeking me arranged for a taxi to be waiting for us at the pier. Due to traffic it was about an hour drive to the Acropolis where our tour guide was waiting for us. We were so blessed to have a guide who majored in archeology and was very knowledgeable. The food tour was interesting as well. I especially loved the market and seeing all the fish/meat for sale. They then had a driver ready to take us back to the ship. The communication by email was great and the whole tour ran seamlessly and on time. I highly recommend

Our company were so satisfied with the Acropolis tour and then with the dinner, all organised by Greeking.me. All communication beforehand was easily and fast. The transportation from the airport was on time, buses clean. Acropolis tour guides were excellent and friendly. The restaurant was a fantastic choice. Walking distance from the Acropolis, tasty food and great music! Almost 80 of our colleagues ended dancing.
