We did the 4h private tour of Edfu and Kom Ombo only with a driver. Fortunately due to a sudden change in our transfer we could change the pick up time one night before with extra charge, that was very much appreciated. Unfortunately the next morning the driver arrived 40 minutes late and we couldn’t contact the operator, we tried calling multiple times, the hotel and myself, multiple numbers which we tried to find online. The driver drove very fast (120km/h) on bumpy, unhardened roads and unsafe…speedbumps were painful sometimes. During the first stop he left the parkinglot and when we finished we couldn’t find him and once again I couldn’t contact the operator. The operator saw my messages later but never replied or apologized in any way. The driver didn’t speak English, so leaving the parkinglot could be a miscommunication, but I’m pretty sure we asked: you wait here? And he said yes. Overall, not the best experience.
The tour was amazing and allowed me to discover in a very good way the history of the ancient Egypt. They were welcoming and i really enjoyed it.
