It was a great change of pace, you saw something of the interior of the country, and there were really beautiful landscapes.
We had an amazing half day with Discovery Safaris during our holiday in Crete. From start to finish, everything was well organised and professionally run. The team were friendly, knowledgeable and made sure everyone felt safe while ensuring we had plenty of fun. The route took us through some incredible scenery that we would never have discovered on our own. Driving the buggy around the mountains and the stunning dam was an unforgettable experience. As you’d expect on an off-road adventure, it does get very dusty. We bought snoods from Discovery Safaris before setting off, and we’re really glad we did. They made a big difference and were well worth the small extra cost, so we’d definitely recommend getting one if you’re doing the tour. A huge thank you to the whole Discovery Safaris team for such a memorable day. If you’re visiting Crete and looking for a fun and unique way to explore the island, we couldn’t recommend this trip highly enough. We’d definitely do it again!
This was super fun. It was easy pickup as they came right to our hotel and brought us to the start point. Ty eh quickly signed us in and then a safety briefing where they made sure everyone understood how to be safe and were comfortable driving the vehicles. It starts off on a beautiful road and then just keeps getting better. There’s a lot of dust so be prepared for that but it’s part of the adventure. The guides take you to a beautiful lake where you have a quick break and then take you up the mountain. There are spectacular views everywhere!! Our guide was great, he was able to watch our whole group and keep us together the whole time and somehow knew if someone needed help or to stop or whatever. He was great! If you’re into a fun time then this may be the thing for you!
We had a lot of fun and we had a great tourguide - Harry! It does get dusty, so make sure you wear your helmet, scarf and goggles.
Fantastic fun and great experience. The views are stunning. Buy a face cover on site as it is very dusty on the ride. Tour guides were very friendly, and picked up and dropped off at hotel - all hassle free
The guides were very nice and attentive. The route was truly impressive, and we received a very nice tour for four hours. Overall, the price-performance ratio was really good.
Don't waste your money – unsafe and disappointing. The guide didn't care about our safety at all. He was only worried about his own convenience and the vehicles. He kept forcing everyone to drive at a super unsafe distance right behind each other, completely ignoring how dangerous that is, especially with the insane amount of dust making visibility nearly zero. To top it off, we were promised 3 stops, but they dragged us through 10 different stops instead, completely ruining the flow of the ride. Despite all those extra stops, the whole tour ended up being much shorter than promised. Save your cash and find a company that actually cares about your safety and delivers what they promise.
Very nice alternating buggy safari. Clear communication in advance, clear explanation, good guide. Proper attention to safety. Beautiful viewpoints.
We booked a buggy tour with Discovery through our tour operator and are absolutely satisfied. We were picked up at our hotel in the morning and taken directly to the base. After a short registration and briefing we started straight away. Both quad bikes and buggies were part of our tour. It was very well organized by the two guides who were there. The 4 stages with the 3 breaks were perfectly planned. There were a lot of off-road trails where we had a lot of fun. The stop at the reservoir in the middle of the tour was beautiful. With a drink in the local café you could admire the lake and the landscape. The guides had water and a sandwich for everyone. We can recommend the tour to anyone who wants to have a guided but self-driving off road experience on their holiday.
Netter Guide. The buggy tour was a lot of fun. Only it was only three stops and 3 hours tour. Instead of 4 stops and 4 hours, as in the description. But it also took about an hour to finish helmets and instruction. There were no photos either. Otherwise, the vehicles were good. And the tour was action-packed and worth seeing.
