3 Wreck Dive Day in Zenobia and Elpida

We were impressed by the safety standards this team maintains. Also we were quite happy with how relaxed and unnecessary hectic everything was going. Last but not least, the team pays very much attention to details (e.g. equipment issues) so that a hassle-free diving is guaranteed.

I recently completed my PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) with Alpha Divers and, one month later, successfully passed my PADI Instructor Examination (IE) to become an Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). From the very beginning, Alpha Divers were professional, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating, arranging an out-of-sync IDC to suit my circumstances. Every stage of the process was clearly explained, including the instructor pathway and future course progression, which gave me confidence throughout my training. Our Course Director, Paul Firth, immediately created a supportive and positive learning environment, putting everyone at ease from day one. The quality of instruction was outstanding, and the course was exceptionally well organised. Paul, along with the wider Alpha Divers instructor and Divemaster team, provided excellent guidance, encouragement, and practical support throughout the IDC. The support did not end when the IDC finished. The preparation and mentoring provided in the lead-up to the IE went above and beyond expectations, ensuring we were fully prepared and confident for the examination. The equipment, facilities, and training standards at Alpha Divers are of the highest quality. I will certainly be returning to complete further PADI courses with them in the future. I highly recommend Alpha Divers to anyone considering their IDC or IE. They are an outstanding, professional dive centre that genuinely invests in the success and development of every instructor candidate.

Having dived with many dive operators over the years, I can confidently say that Alpha Divers stands out as THE Premier Technical diving centre on the island, particularly for anyone serious about exploring the legendary Zenobia wreck. Their reputation as Zenobia specialists is well deserved. The team’s knowledge of the wreck is exceptional, especially Paul Firth, their Technical IDC Course Director. Every dive was planned, with safety, professionalism, and diver experience clearly at the forefront. Whether you’re diving on twinsets or sidemount, the infrastructure and support available are second to none. Their centre established by Chris Martin, the founder and owner is superb, with state of the art gas blending facilities and very high quality dive gear. They also have their own boats, rather than using local dive taxis. Which makes the diving all the more tailored and a personal tour, plus they have an hydraulic lift which is a nice bonus after a long dive. For anyone travelling to Cyprus specifically to dive the Zenobia or undertake any recreational or technical training, I would have no hesitation in recommending Alpha Divers, I’ll certainly return. If you are looking for a dive shop in Cyprus, Alpha Divers is the place to go. They have excellent equipment, experienced dive guides, and top-notch instructors, and safety is at the top of their list. They are very professional but want to have a good time as they understand you are on holiday. I felt safe and comfortable during my wreck dives and really enjoyed an easy day diving in the caves and tunnel. After the dives, they cleaned all my equipment so it was ready for the next day and even swapped a leaking swivel O-ring for me. Don’t waste your time looking for another shop. Second time this year with Alpha Divers and once enjoyed my time with the team diving Zenobia & Elpida. Suex DPV was a lot of fun! The Elpida was a nice contrast to the larger Zenobia and worth a visit.Thanks to Sam, Kevin, Bina, Paul & Chris for a great few days of diving. Will be back!

Although my point of contact was the AyiaNapa shop we used the main shop and their boats to reach the wrecks . From owner/skipper Chris to all the staff Sam, Kevin and Paul they made all the trips very enjoyable and a pleasure to dive with. I once again cannot find fault with their service so if in Larnaca don’t hesitate to contact alpha divers you won’t be dissapointed

Alpha divers are hands down THE best dive centre we have dived with. Having dived in a number of places around the world, I can honestly say, Chris and his team are head and shoulders above other places. Here are some of the reasons 1) safety and professionalism. Should be a given, right? But the level of care and attention was outstanding and that is vital when you’re in the darkest depths of the Zenobia at 30 metres. Small groups of 2-4 divers only with top class instructors and dive masters to keep you safe. The dives themselves, were amazing and my thanks to Paul, for taking me on what will always rank as one of my top dives ever. 2) high quality hire equipment. We had our own gear but the hire gear was such that I would be totally comfortable leaving my gear at home and using theirs. Quality regs and wings as standard (how refreshing not to get a jacket style bcd 3) the team - honestly, the level of service and genuine friendliness of the team absolutely blew me away. They were amazing and went above and beyond any other level of service I’ve experienced on dives. Not only was it great on every dive, they also took our personal dive gear every night and washed and dried it all. That’s never happened before as the expectation in every other place that I’ve been to is that you look after your own gear. The team were awesome and I’d definitely come back again, just because of them. In short (you probably need to be of a certain age to get this)- if Carlsberg made dive centres, they would be called Alpha Divers!

We had an amazing experience with Alpha Divers. Chris and team are an extremely knowledgeable and professional bunch, and ensured we stayed safe while also giving us unique experiences during our wreck dives. We finished the day with lots of new memories, while also feeling more confident and eager for wreck dives in future. Thank you Chris and team for a fantastic experience!
