The tour begins with a scenic van ride to the north end of the island, where we arrive at the Lunch Creek Falls Trailhead. From there, we set out on an easy walk through lush, temperate rainforest, surrounded by towering evergreens and the soothing sounds of nature. Along the way, we’ll stop to take in the beauty of Lunch Creek Falls, a cascading waterfall that flows beneath a stunning wooden bridge—perfect for capturing breathtaking photos. As we continue our journey, we hike along Lunch Falls Trail for an incredible 1-mile loop through the rainforest then descend to the beach, where you'll have time to explore the cove, soak in the coastal views, and search for marine wildlife. Keep your eyes on the water—this is a prime spot for whale watching and observing other incredible sea life in their natural habitat.

We felt very fortunate to have Jordan as our guide through the Tongass rainforest! Jordan shared his extensive knowledge of the ecosystem of the forest and the medicinal plants used by both the Tlingit people and the black bears in the forest. I would have never thought that animals knew which plant to eat at certain times of the year. A 10/10 experience! We even got to hold a banana slug. Thank you, Jordan!
This was our first trip to Alaska. We travel frequently, but this is only our second cruise. The first one was 10 years ago. This was a trip worth taking! Our time in port only allowed for one excursion per stop. We wanted alternatives to what the cruise line had to offer. We were picked up from the same location as those who booked through the ship. Instead of a large coach bus, we enjoyed the intimacy of a small van. My husband and I had an amazing time on our hike with Jordan! It was a great opportunity to experience nature and learn more about Alaska. Make sure you pack waterproof hiking shoes, and dress in layers. The temperature in the rainforest can change significantly in just a few hours. This was a memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour!

Brilliant small group experience. Something unique away from the crowds of the cruise ships. Our guide was enthusiastic to share the beauty and stories of the area. Being a small group of on 7, the whole afternoon felt very personalised. Would hight recommend.
Perfect! This tour was amazing! Our guide was so kind,knowledgeable and went at our pace allowing time to take in all of the unbelievable beauty in the rainforest. Gave so much fantastic info about the different plants and wildlife. Plan to come back with my grown kids and make sure to take them on the same tour- we had time in the rainforest and then at the beautiful black sand beach.
Our guide was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna in the area. He made us aware of the bears in the area and their dens. We spotted one bear who was salmon fishing in a stream and witness him catching a salmon. Our guide knew this was a young bear who was still developing his fishing skills. He also did a great job of identifying flora, especially different trees and different types of mushrooms.
Jordan made our Ketchikan, Alaska tour truly unforgettable! His knowledge, personality, and passion for Alaska made the entire experience amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
