3 Days Private Tour Crossing the Andes Mountains

What a unique experience! From the smooth communication beforehand (via WhatsApp in English) to the competent and dedicated support during the tour, everything was perfect! We had booked a 3-day tour in Los Nevados National Park to the Paramillo de Quindío with Salento Hikers. The day before the tour started, there was a tour briefing and a gear check where we could clarify all our questions. From the start of the tour in the Cocora Valley to the summit, you pass through all climate zones. The trek itself was physically demanding, but rewarded us with great views, including the wax palms and the endemic frailejones. Meanwhile, we were able to learn a lot about the unique nature from our friendly guides, Gustavo and Sebastian. The walking pace was always adjusted to the group's level, and since they provided us with plenty of snacks, tea, and water, we were always well taken care of. In addition to their professional competence as guides, their focus on community is particularly noteworthy. The tour began and ended with a delicious shared breakfast or lunch in Salento, and even during the trek, we were able to chat during our shared meals, whether at the mountain hut or on the hiking trail, and also practice our Spanish (although everyone speaks very good English!). We are very glad to have chosen Salento Hikers for this special tour and can recommend them without reservation!

I did the Potosi 3 day tour with Sebastian. It was a great experience. The guide was very good and I would recommend this hike to anyone because it was so beautiful and we saw a lot of amazing things. The second farm we stayed at was very nice.

This company is amazing! The organisation, communication and planning (with Alejandra) for my 3-day hike to the Paramillo del Quindio were outstanding. The trek is challenging, the scenery and wildlife incredible, and my guide Yeyo is the best guide I have ever had - professional, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced and 100% equipped and trained as a mountain hike leader. I cannot recommend this company enough - one of the greatest experiences of my life!

Very professional and yet personal service. Many thanks to Alejandra, the administrator, who responded very promptly to my many questions to decide which trek would suit us best and helped us prepare very well for the experience (insisting also on the right gear to make the experience most enjoyable) and even postponed the starting date quite last minute since I was sick the day before the planned starting date. When later I suffered a lot from the altitude sickness during the trip, our guide arranged for us to be able to change at a different hut to accommodate me better. Steven, our guide, was a real mountain and nature lover. It was lovely to hear little explanations about the ecosystems as he showed us the way through the thick mist in the Páramo. Overall great experience, would definitely recommend

An authentic, challenging tour that left a lasting impression on me. The guides were always there for us and were always happy to answer any questions. You could tell that they knew their subject very well. All in all, totally cool! I can only recommend it.

We joined the three day "Exploring the Paramo" hike with Salento Hikers. This hike is really beautiful - we walked through cloud and high andean forest until reaching the Paramo, stayed in small fincas and climbed a 4400masl peak with great view on the surrounding mountains. Our guide Yeyo was simply perfect and took very good care of us in every aspect! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the nature, prepared delicious drinks on all occasions, is a great chef and a gifted musician. On the last evening he even performed a guitar and vocal concert, which was a highlight for all of us. The tour was very well organized by Gustavo and the whole package was perfect for us. We highly recommend this tour and agency, the Paramo is a unique ecosystem that we will never forget!

More than a 3-day trek, this experience was an encounter. An encounter with nature and a meeting with our guides Cristian and Yeyo. The most difficult part of the trek was for me to manage my breathing with the altitude, especially during the climbs. It was an opportunity to surpass myself. The landscapes were magnificent. The fincas where we slept were rustic but had what we needed to recover. The guides were really great, they shared their love of nature with us. They were able to help people who were not feeling well. They were full of energy, attentive and always in a good mood. I found the meals plentiful and the snacks generous.
