Hotel pickup, and board the Shinkansen to Nagano. After a comfortable 90-minute ride, you will change to a local train to head to Obuse. Enjoy a sake tasting after viewing paintings by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai. Take the local train to Yudanaka and 30-minute walk along the mountain path, the monkeys will be waiting for you. Once you have observed the monkeys bathing in the hot springs, it is your turn. Your experience in a Ryokan (Japanese-style inn) will be unforgettable! The next morning, head to Zenkoji Temple. After exploring the temple, try Nagano's famous oyaki (pancakes), apple or chestnut desserts, and do not forget Sake tasting. This tour is an ideal way to experience the natural, cultural, and culinary delights of Japan. Please note that it is only during the winter months that monkeys can be seen bathing in the hot springs. Also, even in the winter, monkeys may not come down from the mountains or enter the hot springs.
