I visited Phuket King Muay Thai on the 18th October 2025 and left 18th December 2025. As a young man growing up in London and solo travelling for the first time, it was a scary experience being in a foreign country with no sense of direct or without knowing anyone. I was very on edge once I first arrived, not knowing anyone, the language or the way of life. But coming to this gym and meeting the staff as well as the owner all my worries were put to rest. Everyone in the gym was so friendly and reassuring. The owner is so attentive and will quite literally bend over backwards to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. The Krus (especially Max) are so focused on perfecting techniques as well as teaching you new skills and getting into a fighter’s mindset. There are 3 sessions from Monday-Friday (2 sessions on Saturday) starting from 8am-9:30am, 4:30pm-6pm and 6:30pm-8pm. The busiest session is the 4:30pm-6pm so expect high intensity bag work, pad work and sparring, whereas the other classes are more focused on techniques to learn or improve on. I stayed on site in the gym’s accommodation. It got everything you realistically need for a training camp: •Spacious beds that are regularly cleaned •AC in all the bungalows •Fast WiFi •Outside social area •Beautiful lake view There are many local restaurants to choose from just across the road from the gyms as well as a supermarket for everyday groceries. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who’s just started their Muay Thai journey or even professionals looking for a forever gym. The only bad thing I can say is the heartbreak hurts that much more if you’re not a Thai resident. If you’re ever visiting Phuket, whether it’s for a holiday or training camp, definitely put Phuket King on your list, it’s an unforgettable experience. P.S (Saw if you’re seeing this, I’m gonna get you when I’m back 🤣)
Love this, you are amazing. We are lucky that we attract people like you, you help us to create this environment. Saw says, 'anytime!'
