Everything perfect, guides very helpful and knowledgeable

The guides were exceptional with great efficiency and attention.

In general, the whole organization was great, as were the meals, except for the one on the day from Puno to Cusco, which was of very poor quality and at 11 in the morning.

We loved the country, but not the value for money of the trip. The hotels offered were quite bad. In one, our bathroom flooded, and in another, we were without electricity (and consequently without water) for a morning because they didn't have generators. The extra excursions seemed abusively expensive to us compared to prices on Civitatis and Get Your Guide. For example, at Lake Titicaca, we wanted to change the one-island excursion for the two-island one, and they told us it had an extra cost of 200 dollars per person (when we saw that booking the complete excursion again elsewhere cost less than 20 dollars). And something similar happened to us with the Rainbow Mountain in Cusco. Very expensive prices if you book it from abroad, considering how cheap the country is. We would not repeat with this operator, we are very sorry to say; we did not feel well treated.

Overall, I was very satisfied with Vipac Travel and would rate my experience 4 out of 5 stars. The organization was excellent from the beginning. I received my confirmation, itinerary and hotel information well in advance, as well as my train tickets and entrance ticket for Machu Picchu. Communication throughout the trip was outstanding, and I always felt well informed. The guides were consistently very good, friendly and professional. I would especially like to mention Will, Lizander and Monika, who were excellent guides and made their respective parts of the trip particularly enjoyable. Their knowledge, friendliness and professionalism stood out. All pick-ups worked smoothly and reliably. Sometimes the pick-up times were extremely early and the time buffers seemed quite generous, but of course it is much better to arrive too early than to risk missing a flight or other connection. The only aspect that did not fully meet my expectations was the group structure. When booking, I had understood that I would be travelling with a more or less fixed group and a fixed guide, at least from my arrival in Arequipa onwards. In reality, I had a different guide and often a different group almost every day. Although the guides usually contacted me proactively the day before and the organization worked very well, I sometimes felt as if I was being passed from one person to another rather than travelling on one continuous, cohesive tour. Personally, I would have preferred having the same guide and travelling with a fixed group for a larger part of the route, as this would have created a stronger sense of travelling together and experiencing the itinerary as one complete journey. Nevertheless, the overall service, communication and organization were very good, and everything worked reliably throughout my trip. I would recommend Vipac Travel, especially to travellers who value professional organization and dependable logistics.
