Wonderful experience. Very informative — learned a lot about maiko culture — and the performance itself was beautiful. A must-do in Kyoto, highly recommended.

Description
Watch a real Maiko perform up close—an extremely rare chance, as only about 40 remain in Kyoto today. The show includes two short dances (about 10 minutes total), followed by a Q&A, photo session, and a traditional Japanese game. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING⬇️ - The performer will be a MAIKO, not a GEISHA. A Maiko is a apprentice geisha, which means that she is training to become a geisha. She is a apprentice geisha, which we call a Maiko. - Maiko performances are intentionally short to preserve the art, so she will NOT perform for the full hour. - We offer two different tour options: Tea House: held inside an authentic Kyo-Machiya. Gion Theater: held in a dedicated showhouse. Please check the photos before booking. - We cannot have any late arrivals because of manners to other guests and to the geisha. If you are late, unfortunately we cannot provide a refund.

One of a kind experience!
This was truly an amazing and unique experience! The one-hour geisha show was absolutely beautiful and gave us such a special glimpse into traditional Japanese culture and entertainment. The performance was elegant, captivating, and incredibly well done. We loved getting to experience something that felt so authentic and different from anything we’ve ever done before. The entire hour went by so quickly because we were completely immersed in the experience. If you’re visiting Kyoto, I would highly recommend this show. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip and something we will definitely remember for a long time!

Perfect Tour to Understand the Geisha Culture
Was not sure about this tour but it turned out to be excellent and was just what we were looking for. The tour provided a short Geisha performance at a tea house and was so unique because the experience provided an opportunity to do a Q&A with the geisha to understand the geisha culture. Then we walked to nearby temple with the geisha to learn more about the culture and history. It was the perfect tour and the right length.

Such a pleasure to meet and learn from a Maiko. Highly recommend this experience- was lovely to see traditional dances and play games.

Geisha Experience
We enjoyed the experience. The location was not exact on Google Maps, we had to call them. The taxi driver could not find it. The entertainer was very talented and very graceful.

We had the most amazing Maiko experience. We had a small personal group allowing for dedicated time of Q&A, immersive show and fan game. This was a bucket list experience and dream come true. I highly recommend this show and GuideMe Japan.
