1 Day Classic Sacred Valley Tour With Buffet Lunch

I am sharing this experience to prevent other travelers from going through the same situation. We booked and paid for our excursion several months in advance, in March 2026, for a trip planned for August 2026. We therefore thought we had plenty of time and, above all, the guarantee that everything would be organized in accordance with what was advertised on their site. However, we had to follow up with the agency the day before departure just to get information about our excursion. That is not reassuring after having booked several months in advance. The main problem is that the actual service did not correspond to the commitments presented on their site. The site advertised a maximum of 6 people, whereas we ended up with 18 people in the same vehicle. The vehicle was uncomfortable, poorly maintained, and smelled bad. Admission to Palccoyo was advertised as included, but we had to pay for it as an extra. The visit to Checacupe did not correspond to what was advertised either. The guide gave very few explanations and, above all, he did not speak English: the explanations were entirely in Spanish. We were traveling with our children, who do not understand Spanish. For us, it's a real problem since we had chosen this excursion thinking we would benefit from appropriate accompaniment. The advertised breakfast was practically nonexistent and bad, no plates, no cups, coffee is just water... We also had the feeling that our service had been subcontracted to another provider, which could explain the huge difference between what was advertised at the time of booking and what we actually received. After this experience, our advice is simple: think carefully before booking in advance with this agency and compare local agencies directly in Cusco. We found on site that it was possible to find similar services for about $25 per person, which is much cheaper. In hindsight, we think it is better to book directly on site in Cusco, after having verified exactly what is included, the number of people in the group, the vehicle, and especially the guide's language. We contacted Happy Gringo Tours to request a refund, even a partial one, given the many elements that did not correspond to the advertised service. To date, we have received no response to our refund request. We are therefore publishing this review so that future travelers can make their decision with full knowledge of the facts. Our experience with Happy Gringo Tours was very disappointing and we do not recommend this agency. 👉 Do not settle for the photos and services displayed on the site: check all the details and compare prices with local agencies in Cusco before paying.

This was by far one of the most worthwhile tours I’ve ever taken. We were able to see practically every major site in the Sacred Valley all within one day. The tour guides were absolutely fantastic as well! Our guide Dario was incredibly knowledgeable about the sites, planned out the optimal time for each place, and balanced learning about the history and culture with taking good photos and exploring the sites. The sites were absolutely breathtaking. Coming to Cusco, I did minimal planning, so I needed to find a I booked it a few days in advance, and everything went incredibly smoothly. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good tour!

Juanita was our tour guide. She did a wonderful job flipping back-and-forth between Spanish and English explaining everything with pure passion and excitement, more enchanting to have a guide that was enthusiastic. We had a fantastic day. The only recommendation is that the tour be less to eliminate the few “sales” stops.

The locations were okay but too rush most of the time because they combined the Sacred Valley tour with other people who had to take the train to Machu Picchu.

The sacred valley of the Incas tour was very beautiful. We had the opportunity to visit very sacred places where our guide gave us information about the culture and customs of the Quechuas. Recommendation for all those traveling through Cusco. Thanks to our guide George.

Second to none! This was a lifetime experience and we are very happy that happy Gringo tours made our dream trip a memorable one. From the beginning they were very nice and demonstrated professionalism all the way through. Marco was very kind and took real effort to explain everything in detail. His knowledge about the Inca civilization and Andean mythology was impressive and he also spoke excellent English. This is a must do trip to get an introduction to the Inca civilization.

Look no further! This was an experience of a lifetime with mauro as our tour guide in Sacred Valley of the Incas. We truly wish we could have just booked all our tours with them. The service was top notch and the guide was very kind, spoke good English and considerate as well. We did this tour as we were acclimitising in Cusco and was so nice to know and learn about the local traditions and history.

My favorite was the town we stopped at in Pisac, the children in traditional clothing was adorable and the animals but you do have to tip them to take pictures
