It was FANTASTIC! The tour guide and chefs were fabulous. The class size allowed mixing with other tourists and improved the shared experience. This was certainly one of the top three activities of our ten day country tour. HIGHLY recommend!

Great Italian Food learning experience
We had the best time at Mama Florence Tuscan Cooking Class. The staff and chef were professional as well as friendly. We felt like family having dinner together in a small group setting. We made fresh pasta with sauce, meatballs and panacotta. Definitely will be making these recipes at home. Would highly recommend.

Perfect trip
Best experience ever. Market tour was well worth it- everything from olive oil tasting to trying meloncello! Giancarlo made the day ! Food was incredible and probably most enjoyable trip we’ve had this vacation.

Great Class
This class was the top experience of my fifteen day European trip. Chef Francisco and Yenna were amazing. I was not feeling well but they made sure not to leave me out of the instructions; and Yenna nursed me back to partial health with crackers and Sprite. The recipes were easy to follow and delicious. I am back in South Carolina but I'm heading to the grocery store today to get ingredients to make the delicious Panna Cotta I made at Mama Florence for my family.

Excellent Mama's experience
My wife and I had a wonderful experience starting with a guided market tour that included tasting various olive oils, balsamics, pestos and my wife's favorite pistachio cream. We had an enjoyable walk to the cooking school and met our chef. We made tiramisu, pasta from scratch and filling for tortellini, an apple side salad and chopped the ingredients that went into the sauce for our chicken. The Mama team finished cooking the meal and served us three wines while we waited for dinner to be served. And dinner was delicious. Including the market tour it took approximately 4.5 hours and was and awesome experience. I would highly recommend Mama's.

The MOST Fun in Florence!
We had the very best time at MaMa Florence! Our guide Yenna was very passionate and knowledgeable at the market tour. Our chefs Giacamo & Stefano were very helpful and friendly, no boring foodie snobs here! We learned great techniques that we'll definitely try again at home. Teresa & Yenna were great help throughout. Our group was able to cook together while making friends from across the world at the other tables, and we all dined together at the end. So much fun! We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a fun, educational and delicious experience in Florence. 5star all the way!

A top-notch experience!
The time we spent with the Mama Florence staff was excellent, from our walk through the Mercato Centrale which included tastings at one of the vendors to the food preparation and the meal itself. Priscilla, our chef, was very personable. The food was delicious! Well worth the price. All the staff members were helpful and friendly.

Entertaining and delicious
No experience required, just have a good attitude and you’ll enjoy yourself. Chef Giacomo is a true entertainer as well as a talented chef so he made the class a lot of fun. We learned to make two types of pasta plus a salad, ragu sauce and panne cotta. They were very good about accommodating food allergies.
Our experience included 90 minutes before the cooking class started for a brief overview of the central food market. A good chunk of that time was getting samples from a food vendor. It was a generous tasting (oils, vinegars, spreads, truffle products, etc.) but it seemed a bit too promotional for my taste. And it was 1-mile walk from the market to the cooking class location. So, I would have preferred just the class itself. But I would do a class again, for sure.

And yes, the walk from the historic Central Market to Mama Florence takes you across the center to our home in San Frediano—one of Florence’s traditional, lived-in neighborhoods away from the most tourist-heavy streets.

Our highlight in Florence - 100% Worth the time and money.
Our guide, Teresa, was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave us a fabulous tour of the city market and shared some wonderful historical highlights along the way before we headed to the cooking experience.
Once we arrived in the kitchen, the chefs took over and did an amazing job teaching us authentic, traditional Italian cooking skills. They demonstrated each step, then patiently watched, guided, and helped us as we tried everything ourselves. It was hands-on, relaxed, and a lot of fun.
One of the unexpected fun parts was getting to share the experience with the other people in our class. We learned together, laughed together, and, of course, enjoyed eating together. And the food was absolutely wonderful!
The entire experience was worth every minute and every penny. If you're visiting Florence, I highly recommend the market tour and cooking experience at Mama Florence. It was a fantastic way to experience the city, its food, and its culture—and something we will remember for a long time!
