An unforgettable 7-day Salkantay & Inca Trail experience!
This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The scenery, challenges, culture and of course Machu Picchu made the entire 7 days incredibly memorable.
A huge thank you to our amazing guide Jose, who went above and beyond throughout the entire trek. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient and supportive. He made sure everyone was comfortable, motivated us through the tougher sections and shared so much fascinating history and knowledge along the way. Jose really made the experience feel personal, and by the end of the trek he felt more like a friend than a guide.
And a massive shout-out to our chef Marcos, who was absolutely incredible. The food throughout the trek was far better than I ever expected. After long and exhausting days of hiking, coming back to delicious, freshly prepared meals was something we all looked forward to. I honestly don't know how he managed to create such amazing food in the middle of the mountains!
Jose and Marcos were a huge part of what made this trip so special. Their hard work, kindness and genuine care for everyone made the entire experience even better.
I couldn't recommend this trek highly enough. If you're thinking about doing the Salkantay and Inca Trail, do it — and hopefully you're lucky enough to have Jose and Marcos looking after you!
Thank you both for an incredible adventure and memories I'll never forget!

Excellent
Carlos was an excellent source of information. We had a great group and great overall experience. The Inca trail was partially closed so alternative hikes, options had to be made and everything went smoothly with last minute changes.
We felt very well taken care of. Our chef Armando kept us well fed with delicious fresh food and more then we could eat. Our horsemen Gracielo and Silveria were very hard working. Silveria always had a beautiful smile. I highly recommend this company

Perfecto!
The trek was incredible. My wife and I wanted to experience both Salkantay and the Inca Trail so this was the perfect option. We are avid hikers is the trekking was not too difficult once acclimated to the elevation (definitely take a few days to acclimate if you do not live at a high altitude). Portions of the Inca Trail were closed due to weather damage and Salkantay Trekking and our incredible guide Carlos Ochante worked very hard to provide alternative routes in order for us to still experience much of the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, and other incredible trekking.
Our guide Carlos was wonderful. I would trek with him again in a heartbeat. He was dedicated to making the experience great for everyone in our group of seven (mostly strangers), building the groups friendship during the trek, and he was a fantastic teacher regarding the history of the Quechua people. Tupananchiskama!

The best experience!
This trail was the perfect blend of the Salkantay & Inca trails and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Carlos was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, Armando cooked us incredible food, and Gracielo and Silveria ensured we had everything we needed at camp. Part of the Inca trail was closed when we were trekking, but Carlos and the Salkantay Trekking team ensured we had a smooth, memorable and unique experience. They managed all the logistics behind the scenes so we could enjoy the trek, and I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. I would highly recommend booking a trek with Salkantay Trekking! They are responsive, create a beautiful experience on the trail, and share a wealth of knowledge about the Andean people. Thank you Salkantay Trekking (especially Carlos!) for making this an incredible trip!

Breathtaking scenery with excellent service and support. Highly recommend for those physically able for a challenge.
Salkantay Trekking put together an unforgettable Peruvian hiking adventure for my wife and I. Each day was a new challenge but our excellent guides in Nico and Leo made it achievable and fun for us and the other 6 people in our mixed age, global group. Sights were amazing with lodging and food that was unbelievable considering the remote areas of our trek. Would highly recommend for those seeking a physical challenge with breathtaking scenery and excellent support and accommodations along the way.

Amazing Salkantay Trek with a Professional Guide and Great Crew
We completed the Salkantay Trek with Salkantay Trekking and had an amazing experience. Our senior guide, Alex, was outstanding—highly experienced, extremely knowledgeable about the route and mountain conditions, and always calm and professional, which made us feel safe and well supported throughout the trek.
He also brought the journey to life with his deep knowledge of Inca history and Andean culture, sharing insights that made each part of the trek much more meaningful.
A special mention also goes to Mandel, the assistant guide, who had a positive attitude, kindness and was very upportive.
The muleteer team worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to manage logistics and transport, and the chef and sous-chef consistently prepared excellent meals!
Overall, a fantastic experience thanks to a dedicated and professional team. Highly recommended.

Exceptional service and hard-working team
I completed the 7 day Salkantay Trek and Inca Trail with Salkantay Trekking and had a wonderful experience with them. I joined as a solo traveller into a small group of mixed abilities. The trip itself was very well organised and our tour guide, Edgar, was simply the best - entertaining us and looking after us each step of the way. The food was exceptional - each meal with a different dish cooked to perfection with fresh Andean ingredients. The whole staff / team are friendly and very hard working, and they work together seamlessly as a unit to look after us and transport our belongings every day between each campsite. Overall, I'm very happy that I chose Salkantay Trekking as my tour organiser in Peru!

Just Book It!
Do yourself a favor and book this trek now! This trek is a challenging and rewarding experience. Our lead guide, Guido, was top-notch. We feel like we hit the lottery when we got him for our guide. He built an atmosphere of respect and fun while keeping everyone safe and happy. His knowledge of the mountains is unparalleled. He was able to share what it was like to grow up in the mountains and shared his respect for the mountains, the native plants and the local culture. The cooks, Wilfredo and Vidal, introduced our group to local flavors with each meal. You will not leave this trek feeling hungry. Each meal was an experience in itself. So, book this trek to experience the best of the mountains and Machu Picchu! And cross your fingers that you will get Guido as your guide.

Walk, eat and wonder
Wonderful experience and breathtaking landscapes.
Guido, our guide, is very experienced, knows the place, history, customs, flora and fauna; daily reserved a time to share knowledge with the group of trailers. He was an efficient administrator of the huge support group (cooks, arriers and loaders).
Frank, the second guide, always smiling, attentive, available and careful with everyone.
The Cook does miracles given the conditions of intinerant cuisine. The food is always delicious and full! I think we eat as much as we walk ....or more!!
Bath, only cold or river shower. It's the cost of adventuring in nature. Bring wet towels, they always help.
After all, I liked the people and the structure to serve us.
