My husband and I and our friends had the most amazing time on the 6 day/5 night salkantay trek + short Inca trail! It ended up with just us four in our tour group which was really great. Fredy Apaza was our tour guide and he really looked out for us every single day and was very passionate about sharing the Inca history and culture along the way which we loved. He clearly communicated what to expect each evening for the next day and checked in with us regularly on timing of our dinner to try and help accommodate. He made sure we didn’t have to think about any of the planning or logistics and everything went very smoothly, including transit and entry to the sites. The trek itself is planned out really well, the timing of the easier days between hard days is perfect and made the trek very manageable for us (late twenties active adults). And the trek is BEAUTIFUL every day, it was so refreshing to be outside taking it all in each day. The food was good and VERY plentiful - definitely don’t need to worry about going hungry. Many snacks are also provided each day. The accommodations were very fun as well, we loved staying in the domes each night until reaching Aguas Calientes, and the hotel there was nice as well. Word of advice - bring bug spray to the hot springs if you go on day 4! I got 40 bug bites in the two hours spent there that itched for weeks :( The only thing I would change about this trip is that I wish we could’ve opted out of the included dinners in Aguas Calientes and chosen our own restaurants to eat at and pay out of pocket instead. Overall would absolutely recommend booking this trek to anyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience and chance to get outside and hike! I can’t believe that the 5 day Salkantay trek is more popular - it skips the short Inca trail which is arguably one of the best parts!

César was such a special part of our Salkantay experience. He is an incredibly experienced guide, but what I appreciated most was how genuinely passionate he is about the history, culture, and traditions of Inka people and Quechua people. He didn’t just guide us through the mountains — he helped us understand and appreciate the places we were walking through. He was also a wonderful companion during our 4-day Salkantay trek. When the altitude became very difficult for me, he was incredibly supportive and patient, and he continued to support us during the additional 2 days of Inca trail trekking. I’m very grateful to César for everything he did and for all the stories, laughs, and memories along the way. I’ll definitely remember this trek for a long time, and César was a big part of what made it so special! ❤️

Cesar Quispe was an amazing guide throughout the trek. Lots of experience both in the mountains and with history. Cesar made the trip very memorable and fun in and out of the camps.

We just finished our 6 day trek with Salkantay trekking and we had a great time. It was very challenging, but our guide Alex, aka mountain lion, was the best. He was very knowledgeable of everything Inca as well as the geography, flora and fawna along the Salkantay trek. The accommodations surpassed my expectations as well as the food. Despite the adverse weather conditions we experienced we had a great experience. Roger, our guide, was outstanding and provided excellent communication and encouragement along the way. This is a very challenging hike but the views and experience are worth it! We had a few accommodations that could have been better but overall a good adventure.

This was an unforgettable experience which challenged, awed and educated. The operation was indeed well organised, but it was the guides who made the trip once in a lifetime! You cannot find better guides than Marco and Danger. From the moment I met Marco for my briefing, I felt like I was in safe and very experienced hands. Marco went above and beyond to keep us all safe and well. He has the strength and spirit of ten men as well as an unrivalled wealth of knowledge and passion about his culture. Danger made us laugh when we wanted to cry and entertained us all along the way with stories from home and his life on the farm. If you get the opportunity do not miss out on a trip with these guys. They take pride in giving everyone in their group the best possible experience.

My friend and I had a great experience with Marco and Danger as our guides. They were very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was safe. The accommodations are in such beautiful destinations with such great views and we were very well fed with a great variety of meals and snacks throughout the trip. Our group was 11 people which comprised of half of them doing the 6 day tour and the other half doing a 4 day tour. It was nice to meet others doing the trip even though we split off from them after a short few days.

This was a very beautiful and intense hike with a group of 12. 5 of us stayed for 5 nights and 6 days and accomplished quite a bit in a short amount of time. Our guides Marco and Danger were the best and so knowledgeable. Marco had 22 years of experience and was so personable and funny and brought us altogether as a group. I highly recommend Marco to lead your hike. Meals, bus tickets, admission fees were covered. We upgraded to Inti Punku hotel at Aguas Calientes and am so glad we did!

Orlando as a guide without words, responsible, organized and with an impartial sense of humor, it is visibly possible to see that he loves what he does. Rene, Laura and Fabrizio impressindividual, taking care of the smallest details. impossible not to notice the tune of the whole team.
