First, our tour guide Sabrina was terrific!!! She knew so much we told her she should have been a college professor. The beauty, architecture and colossal size of everything we saw was mind boggling and Sabrina’s knowledge was so helpful in understanding what was happening in ancient times. The hallways and rooms were stunning and endless and finally seeing the Sistine Chapel in person was fantastic. It was everything and more that you have seen in books or on TV and our guide Sabrina had all the answers. Unfortunately this is the only place on the entire tour where you were not allowed to take pictures. Our last stop on the tour was the church next to the chapel, which is the largest in the world. Words cannot describe the enormity and stunning architecture and beauty of this building. You could spend days just looking at it all. I highly recommend this tour in that in the short time you have it gives you a look at everything. Also, to me, being in a small group (7) is the only way to go. There are hundreds of people around you at all times looking at the same thing you are looking at. You are literally squeezed into a mob of people surrounding you so having a tight small group is the only way to go. When I go back I will definitely use Liv Tours and hopefully get Sabrina as my guide.

Early morning tour is THE WAY TO GO! Caterina was an amazing guide and we were so lucky to have her lead us through the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica. We had 6 people in our group with one of them having some mobility limitations, so Caterina had to work a little to make sure everything went smoothly for us, but she did an exceptional job! She made sure that we saw everything and had a smooth and seamless tour! Being the early morning, first entry, she had us in the areas we wanted to be with limited crowds and with time and space to really enjoy the masterpieces such as the Raphael rooms, the School of Athens, the Sistine Chapel, and the Pieta. Caterina’s knowledge of the history and art was extensive and she was also well versed in how to get around and the routes that would be easiest for our mobility limited traveler. We highly recommend this tour, absolutely must do the early morning entry, and if you get Caterina, consider yourself lucky, because she was amazing!

Selena our guide had specialised in the art history of Michael Angelo and so was the perfect host to show us the highlights of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. The collection in the museum is vast but Selenia picked out some beautiful pieces and stories to concentrate on and managed to keep us ahead of the crowd. Highly recommended.
