It was a great overall experience. Our guide, Dennis, was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the sites, the architecture and archeology of the buildings, and the importance of the area to the larger Roman empire. Dennis answered all of our questions, was great with the kids, and even pulled us into a covered area just before a hailstorm let loose. Dennis also gave us a recommendation for an authentic, hole-in-the-wall gelato shop that was amazing and local to our hotel. Would highly recommend booking this tour, especially if you can get Dennis as a guide.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the small group allowed plenty of time for questions and discussion. It was a great family experience.

There can’t be a better way to spend a hot day in Rome touring and learning than w Barbara on The Best of Colosseum & Ancient Rome With Exclusive Arena Access. Barbara was super knowledgeable, engaging for our teen boys and spent extra time finding shade and water spots. Highly recommend
This was one of the best tours I've ever done on any vacation. Our tour guide, Dario, was passionate, engaging, and knowledgeable. He took us through the Forums and Colosseum, explaining hundreds of years of history in an easily understandable way. We learned a ton on this tour and got some excellent photos. The arena floor is not to be missed! It was very hot in the afternoon sun and Dario was conscious of finding us shady spots to stop in and making sure we had time for water breaks. The three hours flew by and we left feeling like we really understood this part of ancient Roman history. Cannot recommend this tour enough!
I had Francesco as my tour guide and he was great! Very personable and also took pictures for everyone in the group (I was solo on this tour so it was appreciated). Worth the money and very thorough!
Very in depth tour of the Coloseum. Our guide, Gabrielle, was the most knowledgeable docent of our trip. She wove fragments of history together to tell a complete story of the construction, social and political importance of the Coloseum, the scope of the spectacles enacted there, dispelled commonly assumed myths, and identified the reinforcement of the stratified social classes that the seating emphasized . Gabrielle brought the Coloseum to life - the walls came alive with the people of a long ago time.
Alessandro was a great guide. Our total group of 6 were met promptly on time and guided with expertise and care despite the oppressive heat. Recommended.
Paula was an excellent tour guide. She explained everything clearly and thoroughly. We appreciated the care she took to make sure we stayed hydrated and that we got enough rests along the way. Highly recommend this tour.
