This was the best tour I’ve ever taken! Our guide was FANTASTIC, the history was amazing, and we got to see every element of the Colosseum, the Forum, and Palatine Hill. Would do this tour every time I’m in Rome!

Tour includes an underground tour of the Colosseum which is a must. Our guide, Madeleine (Maggie), was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and being only a small group (our family only) we had the best experience.

I cannot say enough good things about our tour with Giovanni!!!! He was a perfect guide, cared deeply about our questions and our experience. Well versed in the history and in making the tour amazing. I would recommend him over and over again! If we came back I would book with him again.

So happy!! Magdelina was so very knowledgeable and took time to answer all our questions. It was supposed to be a small group, but ended up a private tour. She was also flexible in the heat. Highly recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful Colosseum tour with Magdalena, covering the Underground, Arena, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate, and she brought the history of ancient Rome to life in such an interesting way. What we appreciated most was how thoughtful and caring she was with our daughter, especially in the intense Rome heat. She made sure she was comfortable, checked in on her, and adapted the pace when needed. That kindness really made a difference and allowed our whole family to enjoy the experience. Magdalena was friendly, patient, and happy to answer all our questions. We learned so much and had a fantastic time. We would highly recommend both the tour and Magdalena — she made our visit to the Colosseum truly memorable!

Our guide was very knowledgeable. She brought with her books with photos that made the experience even better. She was very aware of the heat and took advantage of shade areas whenever she wanted to explain something.

Although our tour guide, Sarah, was excellent and provided a highly informative, personalized two-and- a- half-hour tour covering the history of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum, I informed her that I believed we had paid for additional access to the Colosseum arena floor and underground areas. After reviewing her phone, she advised us that our booking did not include that portion of the tour. At the time, I did not verify my receipt, which was saved on my phone, until we returned to our VRBO apartment. Upon reviewing the receipt, it clearly indicated that we had purchased the full Colosseum tour, including access to the arena floor and underground areas, along with a guided tour of Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. My husband and I greatly enjoyed the tour overall; however, we will be requesting a refund for the portion of the experience that was not provided. That said, Sarah did thoroughly explain the history and function of the arena floor, the underground animal holding areas, and the passages used by gladiators, which we appreciated. Sarah was sweet, funny, exceptionally nice and informative.

We had an exceptional tour with Madalina. Our entire group was only three people, though it could have been as many as six. Our guide spent extra time on areas that we were most interested in and offered in depth explanations of the history and the times of the Colosseum. I fully recommend this tour and this guide! The small group experience was far superior to being in a group of 25. Simply the best!

The tour guide was great – very knowledgeable and engaging – however, unfortunately the tour itself felt extremely rushed. In my opinion, the Colosseum visit could have been shorter so that more time could be spent exploring the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Ideally, we should have been allowed to finish the tour there and explore those areas at our own pace. Because of how the tour was managed, we were not given access to our tickets to re-enter the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill later unless we purchased another ticket, which was very disappointing. Booking through GetYourGuide was seamless and straightforward. The problems started afterwards when the tour time was changed from morning to afternoon. There was no apology, just a notification telling us it had been moved. When replying with questions related to the change, responses were very limited and often felt automated rather than from a real person. I love the Colosseum, and this was one of the activities I was most looking forward to in Rome. Sadly, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I had during the trip. The entire tour felt rushed, and there was no real opportunity to stop, look around, and truly take in the magnitude of what we were seeing. Overall, this was a letdown and not what I expected. I would not recommend this tour
