Fantastic in-depth tour! Our guide was archeologist Andrea and he was excellent! It took a minute to get used to his Italian accent but his English was very good. He showed us the new dig as well that is underway to uncover more of the city that was buried in ash. A lot of walking on uneven surfaces so wear your most comfortable shoes. Hat or shade umbrella also recommended.

Excellent tour with very knowledgeable guide
Amazing experience, I would recommend. The guide was amazing and took us to see lots of great sites! After the tour finishes you can stay on to see more of the site which was also good. Well worth the money and I cannot recommend it enough as without our guide we would have been lost.
Luca was wery friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. Great tour! It was however a little shorter than advertised, but could be because the rest of our group were on a scheduled bus trip. We however were free to explore the site after and had a great experience.
The tour was a sad experience. We paid extra thinking we would have an amazing 2 hours of insight. We were wrong. Not even 1/10 of the city was seen, no amazing frescos, no tiled floors, and nothing about the casts (except the few in the exit museum). We were lucky enough that we could stay longer and see these things on our own, we left the guide about 25 minutes early when he said he was walking people back the the entrance and people could stay longer if they wanted. We had a better experience and saw more of what is shown to be the sights to see in Pompeii on our own.
