Tour was great! My only complaint is that there is no person facilitating the guided tour, the recording is not the same as having a good guide.

Bus broke down during...
Bus broke down during night tour, stood on sidewalk waiting for backup bus over 30 minutes. Very rough ride.

I have done this tour...
I have done this tour before in other cities and this one was very impersonal. Other red bus tours that I took had someone there to talk to you and point things out that you might miss. The driver hands you a small earphone and doesn’t tell you where to plug it in. Also it barely fit in my ear. The recording and the speed of the bus was not coinciding with each other so it was hard to keep up with the information. I was very disappointed.

Hop on hop off tour
It was a great way to experience and see all the sights. Loved sitting on top of the bus and seeing everything. Had to sit on the lower enclosed part once and wouldn’t do that again. Very warm and stuffy can’t really see things well from below

Grab a regular bus instead
WASTE OF MONEY, just take a regular bus. MAKE SURE TO CHECK the app for which stops or routes are closed BEFORE YOU PURCHASE (the entire blue route was closed during one of our days) and know that more may be closed that they haven’t bothered to update. Stops 8&9 were both closed all day when we bought the tickets and the app never updated to show they were closed.
IF RAINING AND COLD you can’t see anything from inside the bus due to window tinting and fogging of windows.
AUDIO GUIDE was not in sync with the route on nearly half of our ride so we didn’t really know what we were looking at.
The guys that help load the buses are really nice.

Not timely.
Delays...we waited 45 minutes for a bus at stop 8. Buses were supposed to come every 10-15 minutes. Two came in 45 min but were too full. Then we were so late they decided stop 1 was the last stop and several people needed stop 2. So they told us to get back on and they would take everyone to stop 2, we sat there for another half an hour waiting for them to take us, we could have walked in that length of time had they just told us anything. Not a bad experience in the beginning but they really lacked at the end of the day!

3 days in New York
It was a good experience but you cannot try to jam activities into the day if there are time constraints......the traffic is your enemy.......we gave ourselves an hour cushion to get to the Landmarks cruise and missed our slot because of the traffic........we ended up being a half hour late so we missed the event.....
You must be prepared to do a lot of walking if you get off at stops as crowds are everywhere......make the most of the view from the bus....

Do not take the big bus in New York City.
We got yelled at by our bus driver for asking a question at a stoplight at that stop. We accident the bus at that point not riding any further, we contacted the service provider about the extremely poor treatment and they acted like it wasn't a problem. Being yelled at by bus drivers when you're paying for a service is wrong and should never have happened. Do not take the big bus in New York City.
