What a lovely team of staff in Ottawa station, all friendly and helpful. The station was spotless. So well organised for boarding of passengers. Not a negative about the station but an unfortunate incident witnessed on a train from Ottawa to Toronto at 10.24am on 10 June. The driver's cab door to the carriage was open and the chain and sign saying no entry was not in place. An older gentleman went up the steps and shouted "Hello" and was greeted by the driver screaming "GET OUT, GET OUT". The gentleman was visibly shaken and upset, he apologised and left immediately. While I appreciate he should not have entered the driver was completely out of line. The passenger may have dementia or learning needs and the driver's behaviour may have caused dreadful problems for the man and his family. Customer care, customer skills and some equality & diversity training.
