Don't bother
The experience was horrible. For anyone that enjoys books and want to explore, this is not the tour to go on. The lines are incredibly long, the bookstore is jammed full of people and the experience just made me angry. I couldn't even get to the books thru the throngs of people and influencers taking pictures. Don't waste your money.

Not a great experience through Tripadvisor
Tickets were not sent even though an email from TripAdvisor indicated that an attachment contained the tickets. This caused an inevitable delay. The Lello Bookstore manger had to intervene and did not succeed in getting the tickets sent so had to generate Lello Bookstore tickets for us. The TripAdvisor tickets were overpriced as well. The Lello Bookstore sells the tickets for 15.95 euros. The Lello Bookstore is beautiful inside and well worth the visit however I do not recommend buying entry tickets through TripAdvisor.

We would also like to clarify that the experience purchased through Tripadvisor is not simply the individual admission ticket sold directly by Livraria Lello. The product you booked combines admission to the bookstore with a one-day self-guided experience in Porto, so its price is not directly comparable to the standalone admission ticket.
That said, we understand that the difficulty receiving your tickets negatively affected your experience, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused.

Yes, it's worth the wait!
My partner co-owned a book store in South Pasadena, California before I knew him, so this was a present for our 10th anniversary. We were both impressed with the beauty and uniqueness of the store! The red staircase and the beautiful carved woodwork set of the variety of books and so many languages. I had wanted to find a book about the tiles of Portugal and found a fantastic edition! And then , of course, there were the many possibilities of finding the perfect book for friends and Christmas presents!

It’s a cool book store - that’s about it
It is very busy. You walk in almost military like lines through the store. The inside is very detailed and lovely to look at- however a lot of people unfortunately use this as a photo shoot opportunity which means you stand in line even longer. No major complaints it is literally just a super busy and pretty book store

Informal tour operator and enjoyed visit.
We are not happy with the tour operator. We had made the reservation in the month of May for August 17th at 9:30 in the morning and two days before they told us it was not possible and we had to change the reservation for the same day at 2:00 in the afternoon with the heat there was yesterday, which was 37 degrees. As for the visit, we are happy; we liked the bookstore a lot and bought some interesting books.

A book shop like no other
Very popular & busy pre booking is essential,well worth a visit.The Dua Lipa instillation was extremely informative & a pleasant addition.

The check in process was a little funky. I bought my tickets on Viator and they couldn’t use those tix that were issued. Walking in was very underwhelming considering how intense the check in process was. Then they tell you that you can redeem the amount you paid for a book but then upon checkout you find out it’s only certain books (of course nothing we wanted). Complete waste of time.
