My family including two teenage sons had a fantastic morning with Gorelio!! He was prompt meeting us at our hotel and then we took a taxi to the tuna auction. Very knowledgeable about the auction process and was able to provide us with visual guides. We then took a bus to the outdoor market. He was able to recommend some excellent stalls to eat at! Highly recommend this tour and guide!

If you’re considering the Toyosu Fish Market tuna auction, book a tour with Goreilo—you won’t regret it! He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and witty, making the entire experience both educational and entertaining. What really set him apart was that he graciously entered the lottery on our behalf for the premium tuna auction viewing spots…and we actually got them! It made an already amazing experience unforgettable. After the auction, he took us through the Tsukiji Outer Market, sharing fascinating insights, pointing out hidden gems, and recommending the best food stalls and shops. His local knowledge saved us time and helped us experience places we never would have found on our own. If you want an engaging guide who truly goes above and beyond, I can’t recommend Goreilo highly enough. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo!

Goreilo (Katsu) gave us an absolutely incredible tour of the Toyosu and Tsukiji fish markets easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Tokyo! His knowledge was remarkable. He walked us through the history and inner workings of the fish auctions in impressive detail, and made sure we had a great vantage point to take it all in. By the end, we felt like we truly understood what makes these markets so special and iconic. After the auction, he brought us to a fantastic spot for a sushi breakfast — the perfect way to cap off the Toyosu experience. He then guided us through the outer Tsukiji market, pointing out the best stalls and helping us navigate what can otherwise be an overwhelming place. He was funny, personable, and incredibly patient with all of our questions — and we had a lot of them! His English was excellent, which made everything seamless and easy. If you’re visiting Tokyo and want an expert, engaging guide for the fish markets, this tour is an absolute must. Highest recommendation!

This was our first time visiting a fish market, and from the time we booked the experience, Toru-san has been amazing. He helped us get to Toyosu market, where the tuna auction takes place, at the right time to get the best views and explained everything about how the auction works and made sure we didn't miss anything. (You will need a knowledgeable tour guide because everything happens so fast and you might miss it!) We learned so much during such a short time about how the delicious tuna you eat at a sushi restaurant ends up in front of you. After the auction Toru-san took us to Okame, a great sushi restaurant, where we got to experience delicious sushi breakfast. Our next stop was Tsukiji market, and again we got to try all sorts of food and learn more about the market and got to meet some of the vendors. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. If you are interested in cooking, Japanese cuisine, or know someone home, this tour will give you the opportunity to do some shopping for unique souvenirs. We had to get to Toyosu market before 5 am, and while you might think it's too early, but why not do something fun and delicious with your jetlag? It was so worth it and I'm glad we chose to spend our first morning in Tokyo with Toru-san. The other advantage of being so early was that the market was not as crowded and we got to enjoy our time without having to wait in line. Thank you, Toru-san!

Toru was a fantastic guide and made our experience one to remember. He picked us up from the hotel and clearly knew how to be there early to get a good view. He also took us to a delicious sushi place thereafter which the whole family enjoyed.

We had a great time touring the local markets and fish auction. We were lucky enough to get the lottery tickets so we were able to view in the first floor. Either experience is fascinating and the coordination and communication was easy and flexible.

Altogether this was one of our favorite things we’ve done in Japan, the activity was incredible but even better was having Toru as our guide. He is a fun, kind, knowledgeable man. He had answers to our questions and shared a lot of interesting facts to share as we learned about the auction. This was well worth waking up early for, and was our favorite activity of the trip so far.

He encouraged us to apply for the lottery to watch the tuna auction from the second-floor viewing area, which we were lucky enough to experience. It was absolutely incredible. Mr. Kito was highly knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that made the experience even more meaningful. After the auction, we enjoyed an amazing omakase sushi breakfast with some of the freshest fish we’ve ever had. The owner and head sushi chef prepared delicious sushi paired with sake, making it even more special. Afterward, we explored the Tsukiji Market together, and Mr. Kito also shared great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit during our stay. I truly cannot say enough good things about this experience. Beyond being an excellent guide, we genuinely felt like we gained a friend. The experience was warm, personal, and unforgettable. The next time we visit Japan, we absolutely plan to meet up with him again. I highly recommend this tour and would definitely book with him again.
