Fumi was a wonderful guide for my family. He was communicative, on time, and super knowledgable about the tour but also just in general. My kids had a great time as well! We would definitely book again in the future

Fumi was an excellent guide. We learned about the auction, what all the different people were doing, the fishing technique, the processing of the fish, the supply chain process, and that was just the beginning. We learned about many other Japanese foods and went to the market after the breakfast, where he taught us about knives, green tea, even earthquake building innovations. It would have been a huge mistake to have gone without him. I occasionally overheard some other guides and was so happy we had Fumi, because he was trying so much harder to give us a good experience. He even had visual aids and handouts we got to keep, which we did refer to later. It was a rich experience that exceeded my expectations, and special to have a human connection to Tokyo as well.

Fumi was an excellent guide. He arranged the transportation from the hotel to the market and ensured that we had the best possible viewing for the auction itself. He was also very informative through explanations of the actual auction process, hand signals and reasoning for bid pricing. Further he did a wonderful job of helping us to understand more of the Japanese culture, customs and history. It was a wonderful thing to do early in the trip as our schedules had not yet adjusted to the new time zone. The information provided also helped us during our travels in Japan. Excellent day. Fumi was such a pleasant and informative tour guide for our Tuna Auction experience. He had such fun and detailed explanations, including props and handouts, for the entire process, which was a lot more than other tours provided. We were fortunate enough to win the lottery to be at the lower level, unfortunately did not know ahead of time that when submitting for lottery application you also need to include the tour guide so Fumi was not able to go down to the lower floor with us, so please note that when submitting application! But Fumi did his best to explain everything ahead of time which was great. For such an early start, we were thankful to be in Fumi's hands and not have to navigate our way around or try to understand what was going on. This was one of the highlights of our trips so thank you Fumi!

Thank you Fumi for a fantastic tour of the fish market! Fumi made sure we had the best spots to view all the action of the auction, and he took us to parts of the market where tourists don’t go. We learned so much, not only about the fish market, but also about the Japanese diet, key ingredients, and how to properly eat sushi (turns out I’ve been doing it all wrong!)! We also had the most delicious sushi breakfast made for us by a professional sushi chef and visited the best shopping spots in the inner market at the end. This tour is the highlight of our trip so far, and we can highly recommend it!

This is a good must tour to understand the tuna culture in Japan. Hard to wake up early, but absolutely worth it. Fumi is an excellent guide, highly professional and knowledgeable, not only about the market but Japanese culture. Highly recommend!

This is the only way to see the tuna auction. Fumi is so energetic (which is important at 430 AM) and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this excellent tour.
