Shaheer was excellent. He was very communicative the days previous to us arriving in Venice and adjusted his schedule to accommodate 2 last minute timing changes due to our transportation being rerouted. He was a local and a Masters student in Venice, so excellent knowledge and great discussion. I would suggest that 2 hour is probably the right amount to give you your bearings and understand the “why” of Venice.

It was somewhat difficult to clarify via VIATOR whether the tour would really take place with a German-speaking guide. For GERMAN, "Leitfaden" was mentioned - for other languages, "Führer". We were absolutely lucky with Michael Klopfer. He was born in Venice and works full-time as an architect. It was like a tour with a local friend who knows about everything. Of course, there were also knowledgeable insights into the history and architecture of Venice, and otherwise many insights that a friend living on-site would just give. Following the tour, he even sent over some restaurant recommendations via WHATSAPP after he had checked with friends whether they were still as good as he remembered from his last personal visit. For German speakers, we highly recommend specifically asking for Michael as a guide, because he is simply great. Enjoy.

This was a truly customized and personalized experience walking the streets of Venice. Our guice Eloi was enthusiastic, personable, and filled with anything Venice. He did his homework, asking the day before, what we wanted the tour to cover and he covered it. We asked for restaurant recommendations, he provided three, we went to all three and loved them. He made some great suggestions on special artwork installations to attend. This tour was unique. If we had asked him to take us to all of the classic tourist sites he was prepared to do so but we didn't want that type of tour. Eloi and this walking tour expreience is hightly recommended. Go as early in the morning as you can to avoid the crowds.

Amos was our tour guide. He was absolutely awesome! It actually started raining during the tour, and we had to wait, until it passed. He handled the situation like a pro and we got to continue and finish the tour. He took us to spots, we would never visited on our own. If you plan on choosing this tour…I would highly recommend Amos. He has a lot of historical knowledge concerning Venice. You will not be disappointed!

Shaheer is a wonderfully laid-back travel guide who knows everything about the city of Venice. Discover Venice at ease, in peace. He also shows you less touristy places to take pictures!! It felt more like walking through town with someone you knew than with a travel guide! We also made a gondola ride and Shaheer could come with us, also there he gave information about different buildings along the canals! Our trip has definitely been made more complete by the tour of the city! Thank you for the pleasant time!

Our guide was a local college student who wasn't a Venetian native, but was still very familiar with the area and could share stories and insights into the sites. He helped accommodate my elderly mother quite well, and we were able to enjoy our own pace around the city. Overall a very nice experience!
