We booked the Appian Way Aqueducts Bike Tour with Catacombs and Lunch through Roma STARBIKE, an e-bike tour for our group of 7 adults. The catacombs were incredible, genuinely one of the highlights of our trip, and the lunch included with the tour was good as well. On paper, this should have been a wonderful day. The problem was the pace set by our guide, Chris. The cobblestones on this route are no joke, and even on e-bikes, several people in our group repeatedly fell behind because Chris was riding far ahead of the group. There were multiple points where we nearly lost sight of him entirely, and at one point our group actually got separated and lost. Thankfully, there was another staff member riding at the back of the group to help stragglers keep up, though he was never introduced to us and we never got his name. Without him, I do not think we would have made it through the day as a group. I asked Chris directly to slow down. His response was that this was meant to be an intense ride. If that is the expectation, it would help future guests to know that going in, since nothing in the tour description prepared us for a pace that left everyone in our group physically exhausted by the end. That exhaustion had real consequences. We had another tour booked afterward, a visit to the Pantheon, and we had to skip it entirely just to rest and recover. We did not come to Rome to spend our afternoon lying down because a bike tour wore us out more than sightseeing should. I would recommend Roma STARBIKE for the route itself; the catacombs and lunch were genuinely great, but ask specifically about the pace before booking, and consider requesting a different guide if Chris is known for pushing groups this hard.

We had a fantastic day on this e-bike tour with a small group of 6. Jeff navigated us safely out of the city, then we made stops at various sites as we biked along the Appian Way making our way to the aqueducts. The tour of the catacombs were interesting and pasta lunch was delicious. The 5 hour tour flew by and was a perfect amount of time. Thanks Jeff, we had a great day and highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing time. Such a fun couple of hours getting to see Rome's parks and the aqueducts. Highly recommend.

Our bike tour with Jeff was amazing! The timing was a perfect combination of biking and other stops including the catacombs and a nice lunch. Jeff was very knowledgeable about the history of Rome and as an art historian I saw so many things I had learned about and taught to students including the tomb of Cecilia Metella and the Roman aqueducts.

Alex our guide was fantastic very knowledgeable and out going. Great tour getting outside crowded city Did golf cart tour w Alex in afternoon had wonderful time and saw so much👍

Salah was a great tour guide. He kept the group together, did a good job of explaining all the sites , and answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

You should have good biking experience, some parts of ride are rough terrain. Ask for Lorenzo, he was an excellent guide!
