Truly a highly recommended activity! The tour started with a short city tour and then ended with a tasting of local specialties. Our guide "Frederica" was extremely kind, very well-informed, and also not afraid to crack a joke.

What we got was NOT a food tour. The TripAdvisor description is totally misleading and false. It was a 2 hour historical tour with 1 snack. 19 people. Then 3 of us went on further for a rushed 1 hour food tasting at the end of the historical tour. We had 3 stops to eat in 1 hour, including Delicatessen meat and cheese with a teeny tiny taste of wine. Followed by a huge Panzerotti , which was so hot we couldn't eat it for awhile. And then a stop at a gelatto store for a cone. It was too much food to wolf down in such a short time. The places we ate at were not local out of the way places. The restaurants were right in the tourist area. We did not want to do a historical tour in the heat of the day. 19 people with no audio available and local crowds made it difficult to hear. If you want a food tour, this us not one. Worst i have had in many other cities.

We were switched to the pasta making tour. The guide and the experience was absolutely wonderful and perfect for us. My husband is obsessed with making pasta by hand. When I checked in with the clerk, I spoke Italian so the clerk started speaking Italian ery quickly. I didn't understand her, but nodded. She switched us to the other tour, but I didn't know. It was deliightful but confusing when we didn't get lots of food. It really was the most fortunate change for us. I loved getting a view of the way a local woman liives by sitting with her in her kitchen.

Kara was great giving us all the history of Bari and showing us round. Although the food was great we initially had an ice cream however it was a long time until our next food stop then there was 3 tastings of carbohydrate dishes all in the space or 30mins. It would be great to have spread these stops out more evenly during the tour.

Viviana was a wonderful guide. The Old City is lovely and we were given history information as we went. We were the only English speaking couple on our tour. Although Viviana gave us information, for the 5 minutes explaining to us, she spoke to the other Italians in our group at least 3x longer wherever we went. That part was disappointing. The food was good, altho unnecessary. The walking tour was 2 hrs which included a piece of focaccia. The food tour was an hour an consisted of a stop for a small plate of several delicacies, followed by fried pizza pocket (could have done without) ending with gelato. This part of the tour was a waste of money.
