This was easily one of the highlights of our time in Rome and worth every cent. Leonardo was exceptional. As an archaeologist, he brought a depth of knowledge that went far beyond simply pointing out the major works. He was able to explain the history, archaeology, art, architecture, and personalities of the Vatican in a way that made the entire experience fascinating from beginning to end. What impressed us most was how thoughtfully he managed the tour itself. Leonardo clearly understood the flow of the Vatican and worked strategically to get us into the Sistine Chapel at a moment when it was remarkably sparsely populated. Being able to experience the chapel with relatively few people inside completely changed the experience and made it far more memorable than we expected. He was engaging, personable, and extraordinarily knowledgeable, and he adapted the tour naturally to what interested us rather than making it feel scripted. The VIP visit to the Chapel of Nicholas V was another excellent addition. We have taken many private tours while traveling, and this was among the very best. If you are considering spending more for a private Vatican experience, I would highly recommend LivTours and especially Leonardo. Five stars without hesitation.

This was the first tour we took in Rome and it set the bar high for the rest of the trip. We got in early ahead of the crowds. The guide was patient, answered all our questions, and seemed to know everything about every piece of art in the museum. Overall a wonderful experience. Great value for the money. Highly recommend.

This was in incredible tour. Elisabetta was extremely knowledgeable about the Vatican, its museum items and its history. Educated in archeology and growing up in Rome gives her a perspective that most other tour guides don’t possess. I would take this tour again.
